I was always a Bure fan myself
- TheHank

Great choice.

Other than '99, the Rangers/Nucks final was my favorite ever and Bure was a beast in those entire playoffs. Electrifying player.

Wasn’t he criticized heavily after his series against Washington? Unjustifiably too
- sbroads24

He was crushed from the media and fans, to the point of the almighty Babcock needing to fly to meet him in an offseason meeting.

That was bizarre. The ball he placed rolled back into the water.

No I don't ???
I'm not inside your head.
My emoji certainly wasn't meant to be demeaning.
???
But once again, I will apologize if somehow you did take it that way.
👍

My ego doesn't need to be stroked.
I'm long past them there days.
I'm just an old guy walking off into the sunset now.

Edit: by the way, I hope that you do one day.
All the best to you on your future endeavors.

I wish you the best.

I'd say both PS.
:'(
I love this team.

I have a 15' x 18' addition on my home that is entirely blue and gold that is of course devoted to the Sabres.

Ric friggin Seiling...I remember the eye injury thingy back in 1982 I think?

His game suffered severely after that.

No player in the history of the Sabres fell down more than Ric (Dixon Ward was a close 2nd 😂).

Solid player, I suppose, but no Bossy. And they claim that the reason for the pick was that they had "enough offensive players". 🤦‍♂️

Yeah and they didn’t penalize him for it in the end. He didn’t have to drop it there, he had options. Should’ve been an 8.

I was a Leafs fan up until the age of 8 maybe 9. I had never seen a star player as disrespected as Sundin was in Toronto but that’s my earliest recollection. That disgusted me and I wanted nothing to do with Toronto ever again as he was my favourite player. I hopped on the Sabres bandwagon when they were “good, scary good”. My first Jersey was a Afinoganov laminate lol. Less than two years later Briere and Drury are out the door and the last 12 years happened. I love hearing stories though of the 80’s and 90’s. I hope that Eichel can be the Lemieux to McDavid’s Gretzky someday but that is some wishful thinking.

Anytime somebody tells me what school they went to and what degree they got, I feel like they're admitting they don't sound smart enough when they simply talking in the conversation.

I'm just a dumb concrete guy that dropped out of college to do concrete.

Even though I've grown to really hate the Leafs (when they were in the other conference, I couldn't really hate them), I have a soft spot for guys like Salming, Turnbull, Palmateer and obviously, Sittler. Every Saturday night, if the Sabres weren't playing, it was the Leafs for me on HNIC. So glad I grew up so close to the border.

That's when rivalries were heated.

Flames/Oilers

Nordiques/Canadiens

Sabres/Bruins

So many bench clearing brawls

Salming, Sittler and Palmateer.

Great choices to represent the Maple Leaf.

I long for the days of a good ol' rivalry with the Quebec Nordiques.

My uncle is a Leafs and Isles fan. We’ve had a lot of interesting discussion over the past 6 months to say the least. He was a fan of the team back in those days.

Yea I’m like 35-40 minutes to Toronto. I’m about an hour and a half away from Buffalo. I love being so close to the border. I was able to catch the Broncos game in Buffalo last season which was cool. My dad was born and raised in windsor. We’ve caught a few Lions games as well when we go visit family that’s still there. He’s a diehard Leafs fan though no ties with the Red Wings. P
