make a statement

put scandella and okposo on waivers, call up guhle and olofsson

that sends the message that needs to be sent

- homiedclown

I doubt that happens

Yeah, Drew Stafford had to get his ass kicked by Chris Neil because no one on the ice wanted to do anything, but at least Lindy put his guys out there for the ensuing faceoff, and the rest is the stuff of legend.

Thanks Botts cause without you being patient and not going bat s*** crazy like GMTM has done the last 4 years we would have selected 8th instead of first last year. Your knee jerk reactions and making trades two years earlier then you should have at least allowed us to fire you and allow Botts to get some back some of the assets you wasted on nothing.

Funny how we're seeing page after page of people wanting JB to go into GMTM-mode, as if our system was magically restocked in a year.

I am fine with zero trades to make the roster better this season

I am not fine with okposo, scandella, girgens, lockport larry, hutton, thompson, sheary, pommer and sobotka going through the motions week after week

trade a few
put one on waiver
send thompson or casey down for a week
call up some kids that have earned a shot in our top 9

instead we are all preparing for a scott wilson call up

If people want to disregard the locker room issues or the fact that he wanted out, fine whatever, criticize him for trading O’Reilly

Lehner needed 90 days of rehab after a contract year. We’re we supposed to re-sign that?

Kane has already been in the news for more scum bag behavior and 89 has hinted at more poop he did while he was here, they weren’t resigning him.

JB inherited a total and complete disaster and got Dahlin and Skinner out of it so far.

It sucks but what else was he supposed to do so far that would have made a world of difference?

that's 2 core pieces

you need about 12 to build a roster around, so IMO that's a great start

thompson, pilut and making the trade with vegas to keep ullmark was also good moves

cutting ties with scrubs that will never be, baptiste, bailey and fashcing also helps us with d depth in rochester that was lacking

it's not as bad as we rant about, and murray really screwed this team top to bottom

Tim Murray traded 2 2nd rounders and Brayden McNabb for Hudson Fasching.

I miss his services

Apparently they want GMTM back. We don’t need first rounders. We don’t need to patiently build a cup contender. We need to make the playoffs one stinking year to make everyone happy. Playoff appearances are worth more then Stanley cups. Let’s go watch us lose 4-0 at home to the Lightning and cheers in celebration. When the future becomes the present and we are still in this spin cycle and we ruin Eichel and Dahlin like the Isles wasted Tavares we will always have the playoff series of 2019.

Overreaction at its best

The 10 game win streak was a huge mirage

It made people forget how bad this team was last year

The main difference between November and now is the lack of stellar goaltending

This team still needs 4 major pieces

A 2C
A 2nd line RW
A true 1st pairing to play with Dahlin
A true starting goaltender

The off season last year Botts cleared long term cap space
Brought in Skinner

and more importantly has not panic and thrown away draft picks and cap space for band aids

As much as I want to see a big move, it's probably not going to happen at least until the off season.

Its year two and it is much of the same as year one. If year three is much the same as year two and one Botts is gone in year four.

Can't he make trades where they contribute to the long term success of this team?

Why do Botts apologists always exaggerate like the only thing other people have ever said is mortgage the future for band aids. Its ridiculous.

This is year two of clearing out GMTM mistakes. If we don’t make the playoffs next year then I’ll agree with all of the posters sentiments. You’re acting like next year is already a write off.

I'm giving away a 1st, Nylander and Guhle if needed to get rid of Okposo. 4 more years of him and others is horrible, we are suffering now so what's the difference.

my only issues is playing the same 10 scrubs each night instead of shaking up the roster with call ups and minor trades even if only addition by subtraction

I think olofsson, o regan, smith, asplund and nylander deserve a good look, even guhle

but as long as we are riding the elies, girgensons, larsson, scandella, hunwicks, beaulieus etc

this will not happen

I can defend every move JB's made. GMTM started off with a few head-scratchers, and just kept on going.

This was supposed to be an 85-point, young, inconsistent team....and it is.

Yes he can and so can all other 30 NHL teams. I’ve seen two trades this past month and I don’t look at any of those players traded and think “Botts should have been in on that guy”.

Take the 10 game winning streak away and this team is picking top 3. There is a reason a season is 82 games long and not 35. We had a good start. It was also the most luckiest stretch of games I’ve ever seen. We played something like 16 games out of an 18 game stretch that were all decided by one goal.

and the wilson trade

but everything else made perfect sense
