You think highly of yourself and your opinions.
I can tell.

Just sit back and enjoy the show sir. I just hope that when this team is dominant due to Botts’ patience that you and I are around to see it. With Eichel and Dahlin we are guaranteed to have multiple playoff appearances and playoff success like the Sabres teams of the early to mid 2000’s. Botts has accumulated the assets to make this team go above and beyond those teams. As long as he doesn’t sign a boat anchor in free agency or miss on all 4 first rounders we can be a scary good team for a long time. Even if the worse case scenario happens and all the assets go to s*** we have Eichel and Dahlin and we can retool on the fly like those teams you refer to in your earlier posts.

I certainly will not "attack you" for your opinion.

While some other know it all posters (their opinion is the only opinion that's right, the obligatory

- Over50["voices of reason"]) here may attack you.

I agree with you Pairo.
I have said the same in a previous post that 1st round picks don't always pan out.
And Botts needs to stop hanging on to them like they do.

And with a complete hypothetical, let's say that they do pan out?

That's yet another 2-3 years on top of an already 8 year playoff haitus.

Average life expectancy for a man in this country is 68.
At this point we are sitting at 1/8 th of your life and this franchises ineptness.
And we want more of this?

The day for excuses has come and gone in my opinion.

The issue is though is that in order for us to become a true contender, one or two of our draft picks (either future or current prospects) absolutely has to work out and be an impact player for us.

There’s no way around it. The Sabres have already paid Eichel. Dahlin is going to get paid, Skinner is about to get paid. Reinhart will have to be paid again soon.

The Sabres literally cannot afford to build more of this “core” through FA or vets with a high cap hit.

The entire reason Edmonton is in the mess they are in is because of bad drafting outside of the #1 pick and first round, and making desperate trades. We will end up like them

I've been at this a long time.
I know what side is up and down.

"Patience" is tomorrow's whore.

And tomorrows never come for some.

What happened to your advice on responding to someone's post and not insulting the poster?

It was just an hour ago.

I mean he’s not wrong haha. I do think highly of myself and my opinion. I like to think I’m right 70% of the time and wrong 30% of the time. When I am wrong I am not afraid to admit it (Mitts putting up 50+ points this year and being overlycritical of Reinhart’s play). I’m sure I’ve been wrong about other things but those two stick out like a sore thumb. If Botts moves first rounders and adds to the roster I’ll be the first to say hey I was wrong. Apart from that I’ve been right on many things as well.

And when I get roasted for saying that we should trade one of McCabe/Scandella but preferably Scandella as soon as the lottery balls pop up in our favour and two months later everyone is posting that same thing I like to take pride in it.

Botts is more worried about 2022 then 2019 as he should be. Once again I 100% agree with this.

"Desperate trades" are made now by any average GM, I agree.

Smart trades are made back in November and December by intelligent GM's that are capable of thinking outside of the box and are ahead of the curve.

Sorry, I'm just not the guy to preach the 'but ....but but it takes two to tango' defecation.

You just need some courage to think outside the box.
Or consume your courage at a bar like I always seen Murray doing down at the Marina.

It's an excuse!
Excuses are a crutch and are always readily available for the weak and feeble minded.

Results are what matter.
This is a results business.

If this franchise won Stanley Cups for excuses we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Anyway.
I have devoted far too much of my time here on this day.

Be safe all.
Ciao ciao for now.

I wanted him to make a move for a top 9 forward. He didn’t. I think he should’ve at least tried.

Adding CJ Smith + a competent 3rd line center would’ve made us better

Making a GOOD trade (not a desperate one), for a “CORE” player
and/or
Signing UFAs
in absolutely NO WAY
would prevent us from drafting well outside of the 1st round

Sounds like u think we are gonna sign/trade for another “Okposo”
Obviously NONE of us want that

And you’re STILL going on & on about this subject

More often than not in FA that’s what you are getting.

If you can get a Stone or Karlsson who are elite that’s obviously different.
But attempting to add someone like that isn’t a plan. It’s supposed to be a bonus.

They need to add a core player through the draft. Period

Twitter source saying that Sabres and Sens are talking Duchene. This hasn’t been the first time I’ve heard Duchene mentioned with the Sabres either fwiw.

It isn’t the first time I’ve seen this either. Also have a little birdie who mentioned Duchene once. Same guy I got the ROR divided the locker room info from.

I'm not saying you are Jeremy White. All I know is I have never seen you and Jeremy in the same room! Just saying!

Depending on how long you have been on the site for you may or may not have come across this little birdie. This person also said nothing specific and just that Duchene has been talked about.

I’d target him in FA but I don’t like the notion of trading for him. Id assume it’s a sign and trade but it all depends on what we would be giving up for him. Also, if he is willing to sign and then be traded here why not wait a couple months and sign him in July ? Lots of moving variables and parts. I like the player though.
