True and that was a needed and good move. I also like the Oduya move, that may have been his best move. But for every Oduya move there is poop like Rundblad, timo, Weise, etc. This isn't about Saad trade, which turns out was probably a bad deal, at least I "got it" what Bowman was thinking, he lost, not too bad, but he lost. However, the made NO SENSE at all moves he has to own. - kwolf68
I do like the Strome trade, drafting Cat, Delia just to name a few, Manning was (frank)ing brutal

Vaguely remember a couple of games in the mid to late 60s, sitting behind the visitor’s goal for two periods, hawks one period. What i remember was the way the crowd’s attitude changed every time Bobby Hull came down the wing with the puck. Everyone was a little bit more observant and more excited whenever we saw him rear back for the slipper. It was almost like his shot coming out of the rink was something to look out for but when it was any other player, it wasn’t a big deal Tend to believe the pucks didn’t go out of play as much back then but it was still exciting. |

The Strome trade looks good, especially if Perlini can become something halfway decent. Cat was very good and I liked that pick when he made it given I live only a couple hours from Erie and got to a few Otters games to see him play, I always liked him. Maybe that's a sign that Bowman is using a "different method" in making moves. He's our GM, obviously I want him to win every trade and rebuild this team to a championship level before kaner's glory years are over. |

Being at the game and celebrating when Brent Seabrook blasted a wrist shot past Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard’s glove 3:35 into overtime to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 victory over the Red Wings in Game 7 of their second-round 2013 playoff series.
As you all probably recall, the Blackhawks, who had the best record in the NHL regular season, rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to reach the Western Conference finals against the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings ...and then eventually go on to beat Boston in the SCF to win the Cup! - StutzBlackhawk
That game was tense and awesome! I never celebrated a goal as much as I did during that game, but it was for Nik Hjalmarsson's disallowed goal with just over a minute left to go in regulation Took me a few minutes to catch my breath. Needless to say I did celebrate Seabrook's goal but it was more like a relief or dam straight we won and never should have been there in the first place as I walking out of the game jubilant but still ticked off. |

1:24pm - Michael Pachla, fellow Hockeybuzzer who covers the Sabres has a nice breakdown of their play lately.
Check it out on the main page or here: https://www.hockeybuzz.co...-Stats--January/209/97481 - Justin Lowe
as mentioned in today's blog, even though the hawks are 30th in the league, they still have some highly skilled players and are three-time Stanley cup champs...now way they can take the hawks for granted, if they do, they're in trouble |

The Hawks are better off with him in Florida too. - Ogilthorpe2
No question. He's not a politician. It helps to be one in this town these days. |

That 2013 Wings series was madness. Zetterberg absolutely played masterful hockey and drove Toews completely insane and off his game. Toews was circling the drain and while sitting in the box Seabrook went over to him and "said something". toews came out the box a totally different guy.
I don't think it's ever been stated what exactly Seabrook said, but it was easily the most important "moment" of that playoff run. that 2013 team was brilliant, it would have been sick for that group to not win a Cup. If we had a decent center in 2014, the Hawks probably have a 3-peat on their hands, but Hawks doubled down with Mike Handzus and it cost us. Oh well, 3 Cups > than most. |

I will say it again. Tallon sucks as a GM. - Elbows15
But Tallon is very sociable with people all ages. He is out to enjoy life. Well liked by media. Tallon as a GM

Thanks for stopping by Michael.
Last time I was in Buffalo to watch the Hawks it was in Dec 2015 and Kane scored with 30 seconds left to tie it up and then won it in the shootout.
Kaner obviously loves coming home to play. Should be fun to be at the game tonight. |

kane is awesome...there are some that want him in buffalo but he's really got it made in Chi-town and he should retire a hawk |

Like that trade for Pittsburgh, they get two centers, both young, upside may be limited, but both former first round picks, they hate Brassard here and they gave up a 2 and a couple 4s, big deal. Shehen is nothing much. Really don't want this team winning a fourth Cup, but they surely are in the race. Not sure what Florida is thinking. - kwolf68
Do teams really hate the Hawks or Stan that much? Or do teams just really enjoy helping Pittsburgh gain better players on the cheap to win each year? Crazy how they're able to make deals left and right but some teams struggle to make even small moves smh

Have your opinion all you want and most of them I think make sense. But the QO thing was a set up and not on him. He was just the one to fall on the sword. He's better off in Fla. - 6628
Sorry but he was the GM. It was his responsibility to make sure it was done. He didn't have to wait until the last day. Or miss that day cause he was hungover. |

the 15 team had no depth. Unless of course you're talking about the marvelous acquisition of Kimo Timmonen. - kwolf68
You're better than this. Depth includes forwards. They had depth there. The 3rd line was Vermette, Sharp and TT.
And that top 4 on D

The worst picks he made were Aliu and Beach. No defending him there. - 6628
Barker and Skille weren't much better. Toews fell into his lap. Kane was a bit of a risk but he was by far the best player in that draft. |

I've only seen the Hawks play in Nashville, but I have 3 memories.
1) first time seeing the Hawks was in Dec 2014 with my brother. We sat 8 rows behind the Predator's bench, and won 4-1. I think there were as many Hawks fans as Preds fans (this was before they restricted ticket sales). Someone about 10 seat to my right had a sign that said United Center South.
2) Got to see Kane extend his point streak to 24 games with a late goal in a 5-1 loss. The Nashville crowd was pissed when the challenge for goalie interference was denied.
3) My absolute favorite is when Kane flipped a puck to my daughter during pregame warmups 3 years ago. My daughter would sit on my lap watching Hawks games on NHL Center Ice, and Kane was her favorite player. After he gave her a puck, she went up to just about every random person she saw in a Hawks sweater to tell them how "Patrick" gave her a puck. It was even better when he scored on a breakaway, and we won the game. |

Bjustad is on LTIR at the moment. And McCann is a total meh. Sheahan actually filled a role for them. Brassard has been invisible all season. Not really sure which team is better from this trade. Seems like a bunch of guy needing new scenery maybe?

Oh and somehow we are just going to let the fact Tallon gave Vegas 2/3 of their top line to protect Petrovic, I think it was. Or was it Gudbranson go by? |

Ahh makes sense. Seems like Pit got the better players in the deal and are still young enough to be able to fit into that team this year and going forward too

yeah that's a HORRIBLE move for the great Dale Tallon. Pretty sure it was Petrovic. Marchessault has been a beast since coming over. That obviously lit a fire under his butt. |

Love the live blogging idea, Tyler. Another excellent spin on the column.
Favorite and first Hawks game was the one that hooked me on hockey for good. It was March, 2013 v Minnesota close to the end of our ridiculous win streak and the great Lord Hossa's 1000th game. Sat in the 300 level, surrounded by strangers, and marveled at the passion of the fans, the class of the organization during the Hoss celebration, the weird rules (and shout down enforcement) about leaving your seat when the puck was in play, the speed and complexity of the game, etc. etc. etc.
Grew up an NBA fan in Portland (and thus cannot and will not ever support the Bulls), so was so very happy to find hockey, the only other sport that holds my attention like basketball did.
