I have been to several Blackhawk games, mostly when they were at Chicago Stadium. I was at the game when they retired Stan Mikita's number. While there, I saw Cliff Korroll come out of a room and I went over and asked him for his autograph. |

My favorite memory of going to a Hawks game was at the Barn. The Rangers had just acquired Steve Larmer for Tony Amonte, and it was his first game against the Hawks in a snowy January return. My brother being a huge Messier fan was so pumped to see his idol. The energy was pretty electric, and even the Blue Line called out the return of Larmer like only the Blue Line could in tongue in cheek fashion. Those were the best dollars spent outside of an arena ever on those publications.
I think it was late in the second or third, Larmer had a break and was hauled down by Frank Kucera or Steve Smith. Ref pointed to center and ice and I sh*t you not, the building erupted. Eddie the Eagle against Steve Larmer, almost like a peek into the IceHouse on an off day before the guys headed over the Cheli's Chili Bar or something.
I recall watching with the balcony of the upper level cutting off the scoreboard in our 200 level seats. Larmer skated in, didn't even mess with a deke and slapped one on Belfour. I could be completely off, but I SWORE the horn went off as the entire crowd was on its feet and went nuts. It was in the realm of a Stadium Wayne Messmer Good Bless America at any game after the All Star Game. |

1. The 5 goal comeback vs Calgary in 2009-10. Let us know how special the year would be.
2. Toews gets the hat trick (twice) on hard hat night. Disallowed goal made crowd go crazy.
3. Kane GWG 2010 Cup final.
4. Keith scoring on Bishop in 2015 final.
5. Keith becoming Duncan Teeth in 2010. |

Best game memory:
April 2, 1989 - last regular season game of the 1988-89 season - Hawks vs Leafs.
Sitting in first row center second balcony right above the Leaf net. Troy Murray with the OT game winner to put the Hawks in the playoffs with a mere 28 wins on the season. They then would go on to the Western Conference finals.
I think at least three flat MGDs in the wax Bismarck cups were spilled on me when the cheer went up.

Wow Jealous of all the great stories. First game I saw the Hawks they beat the Leafs in OT at the old Maple Leafs Gardens I believe Doug Wilson scored it , has OT been around that LOng?
My not so good memories of Blackhawks games in Chicago. 4 games Hawks scored 1 goal needless to say Hawks lost all 4. They were during a very bad peŕiod for the Hawks |

Another great memory is going to aunt's house because she had Sports Vision and we didn't at home...it was only way to see Hawks play on tv road games. For home games I would sit in front of radio for 2 hours and listen to games religiously...man I hated those North Stars!!! |

I've liked Stan's last couple of moves (Strome, Caggiula), but if he's on the way out they should not let him dismantle more of the team for less value than a competent GM would get. Keith is on a fine deal for his play. He's still easily the best defender on the team. We lose him and we lose any hope of making the playoffs in the next two years. - ObeseOprah
I don't think Stan is on his way out (unfortunately for some).
I've heard he's got a longer leash than some might think. He and the management team have a plan to reboot this team and Stan is in charge of executing it... for now. |

Memorable games:
First Blackhawks game was late 70s against the Jets, Hawks won, shutout I believe. I was sitting with a "rough group" as a kid, but a good kind of rough.
First Bears game: 1983 ish in Baltimore. Bears lost in overtime I believe. Payton was great. this is the game if I recall that Mike Ditka acctually broke his wrist punching a locker after the game. Which is kinda cool. This may have been the season before the Colts left town.
First White Sox game: 1983 in Baltimore, lost 5-4 on a slew of singles in bottom of 9th to blow 4-2 lead. There was a 2-3 hour rain delay
Good time. Leave it to the Hawks to be the only 1 of the 3 to give me a W my first game in. |

For us it was the Sports Page in Palatine which had a satellite dish to pick up the visiting team's feed, and they would use the radio call from Pat and Dale for the audio. |

Duncan Keith shrugs off talk that the Blackhawks will ask him if he wants to waive his NMC and be traded to a contender. Said he be hasn't thought about it and hasn't been asked about it. One day at a time. |

How do you pick one game when a life long love affair began at the age of 3? The memories all become intertwined. From going with my family as a kid to attending games as an adult with cousins and friends. To the moment I took my girls to their first game. Its all been a ride filled with the gamut of emotions. From heartbreak, (frank) you Henri Richard, to sheer joy, thank you Kaner, Bolland and Keith, its been a ride I have never regretted.
I am a Hawks fan. It is a small piece of who I am. |

I was stationed in Minnesota and went down to st. Paul to watch the Blackhawks play the Wild. I was wearing a Patrick Kane Jersey when he completely undressed Backstrom for the overtime game winner. He slammed the puck home and people were so pissed. One of my favorite memories |

Old barn:
Too many to mention but sitting in the Mezzanine with my dad and brother watching Troy Murray steal the puck from Todd Gill and score on a breakaway in OT vs Toronto to send the Hawks into the playoffs on April 2, 1989.
New stadium:
Game 5 vs. Tampa in 2015. Guy who had season tickets next to me in Sect 311 was a real Elvis impersonator (and amazing guy as well). He had to sell every other game in the playoffs so he did not have SC Finals Game 5. I debated who to take with me as I had two seats when I realized NO ONE I was friends with would be near as grateful or enjoy it as much as him so I asked him to come. Cried my eyes out like a little girl when they won.

Like that trade for Pittsburgh, they get two centers, both young, upside may be limited, but both former first round picks, they hate Brassard here and they gave up a 2 and a couple 4s, big deal. Shehen is nothing much. Really don't want this team winning a fourth Cup, but they surely are in the race. Not sure what Florida is thinking. |
