Best game memory:
Probably Game 2 of the 2010 Finals. Close game, energy and tension high. I remember the roof almost blew off after Hossa finally opened the scoring and then Eager came down the next shift and further cemented my loss of hearing after whistling the off wing wrister upstairs.
Always tough to compete with Game 6 against Tampa and seeing the cup raised by your favorite home town team. Or the Kane Hatty against Van in 2009 WCSF.
Awesome blog today! Enjoy Buffalo and hit up the Anchor Bar! - nickmo2699
Was at this one too. My first ever Cup Final game. Paid a fortune for 300 level but it was worth it!

Being at every SC Final home game from 2010 / 13 and 15.
Winning it on home ice in 15. Winter Classic at Wrigley, Stadium Series at Soldier Field. Tons of playoff games.
Watching the banner raise in 2011 with my brother brought tears to our eyes.
Who I am kidding, it was real crying. Our first real Chicago Championship for my die-hard team to watch as I was too young for the Bears, not a white sox fan and am a casual basketball fan.
But. This is one of my favs....
1991 - Hawks vs Blues, drove to St Louis with my family as I was a senior in high school at the time and the Hawks and Blues were fierce opponents battling for first. Witnessed a chippy win in St Louis, then decided to buy SRO with my buddy and went to the game at the Chicago Stadium known as the St Patrick's Day Massacre. I had no voice for a few days after that weekend. What a frickin weekend that was of hockey. Was sitting in the back of our stationwagon and saw some blues fans stick there thumbs down when we held up a Blackhawks pennant and we flipped them off. They had this look of amazement which was priceless that 2 kids could do that.
Can someone link those games? I'd love to watch them over the weekend. Just brought some chills to my back of my neck thinking about them.

$85 for 100 level....sheesh. My seasons are 302 and they're $87 a piece! |

I was at well over 1,000 games in over 50 years at the Stadium and UC And there were three times I got the chills after seeing a play.
1st was mid 60's I realized when Bobby Hull crossed the blue line, checked up, and rifled a slapper past Cesare Maniago that was his record breaking goal for a sesaon. I could barely see it from the second balcony through the smoke.
2nd was when Patrick Kane went off for the hattie against Van in the 09 playoffs with the stiffest backhander I've ever seen.
3rd was Kane again with the second goal against Tampa in the 2015 cup winner. All I could think was it's gonna happen. Saad picked the puck up in his zone and knew Richards was trailing. It's one of the few times Saad actually was a playmaker and not just a bull. That was a great night for a few reasons, just awesome.

Someone soon will ask Keith if he gave a list of teams to accept a trade. Wideman and Tr Murray with Bodin also as moderator before during and after the game cannot avoid discussion about Keith. |

My first game was Christmas day 1966 against the Rangers. (only the original 6 at that time) Hull's (Bobby and Dennis), Mikita, Phil Esposito, Pilote, Mohns, Angotti, Maki, Nesterenko, Kenny Hodge, Jarett, Glenn Hall, Dennis DeJordy, with Billy Reay behind the bench. We sat in the nosebleed section with my dad, uncle and brother and you could feel the building shake. Hawks and DeJordy were shutout by the Rangers and Giacoman 1-0. Bernie Geoffrion scored the lone goal.
A forgotten fact - At that time I believe that teams only could dress 16 skaters and 2 goalies. They sometimes dressed only 15 skaters and 2 goalies. |

I took my girls to their first game here in DC when the Hawks were in town for the pre-season. A fight started, and one of my girls asked me, "Are those two dancing?" I said, "absolutely not!" |

First game I ever went to was probably when I was about 7 and the Hawks had just traded JR to Phoenix I was so pi$$ed about it, but my dad's parents had a close family friend that had season tickets and he gave tickets to us to go for a game. Got to sit like 4 rows off the ice. It was amazing as a kid. From there on I was completely hooked as a Hawks/Hockey fan.
Most memorable was in the 2005 season right before the Hawks drafted Johnny Toews they were at a real low with the team and ticket sales (as many of you know all too well) and my family (my dad, my two Uncle's, their sons, my grandpa, and myself, all the men lol) got a block of tickets like seven games in the 300 level for like $10 a ticket. Best game was against San Jose on 10/7/05 when the ABC line started the game and scored 3 goals in the first minute of the game. So naturally next faceoff both teams lined up their 4th lines and it was an all out brawl. Three fights going on at the same time benches trying to clear. Refs going into a frenzy to try n control the situation. Tried to do another faceoff and a couple more fights broke out. By the end of it there were like 6 or 7 dudes in each Penalty Box it was awesome
After that I didn't go again for ten years and I took my girlfriend there for our first date and her first game day before Valentine's Day (NAILED IT) and while watching the team I knew they were gonna win the cup that year they played so well. Watching guys like Kane and Toews in person after seeing the bad teams in years past was amazing. Watching them on TV didn't do it justice. Anyways, since they haven't won jack squat since then to this day I still blame her for the Hawks demise |

As far as the Keith stuff goes, as TC mentioned, I'm sure the team has already spoke to DK about IF he would be willing to waive his trade clause and IF he did which teams would he be willing to accept a trade to do. You'd be a piss poor GM if you didn't do your due diligence and at least asked the guy where his head and heart is at and what he wants to do for himself and his family. Doesn't mean anything will happen, but its a conversation that needed to happen at some point if it hasn't already |

Agreed. And if he was pissed they even asked, I feel like it would come out in his play. He has arguably had his best stretch over the last 5 or so games. |

I've liked Stan's last couple of moves (Strome, Caggiula), but if he's on the way out they should not let him dismantle more of the team for less value than a competent GM would get. Keith is on a fine deal for his play. He's still easily the best defender on the team. We lose him and we lose any hope of making the playoffs in the next two years. |

My favorite memory would still be the final goal scored by a Blackhawk (Roenick) in the Chicago Stadium. OT winner against the Leafs. I thought the place was going to fall down it was so loud.
I was there....under the organ. Took a bunch of pieces of drywall from under the organ. Still have them. Was holding them in 2010 throughout the playoffs. It worked! |

Some great stories on here.
For me, I don't get out to many Hawks games, but my most memorable was on October 30, 2014 against the Senators. Toews and Hossa were manimals in that game and the Hawks eventually won on a Patrick Sharp shootout goal. There was myself and about half a dozen other Hawks fans in the section I was sitting, and we made more noise throughout the game than the rest of the section for the Senators. |

Another memory, the hit on Hossa by Torres and remembering the silence in the UC. Then a play that I will always remember was Kane sticking up for Toews and Crow going at Mike SMith at center ice.

I don't really get why he would be pissed about being asked about waiving his NTC. It's not like they're going to him and saying,
"Hey Dunc's! We know you took less money to sign a long term extension that was WAAAAAAAYYY under your actually value, played at a Norris level for a decade, helped win us three Stanley Cups, gave your heart and soul to the team, but we're over it so we wanna trade you and need for you to waive your NTC for us to do it."
They're asking him, out of respect for what he's done for us, if he truly wants to continue to play his career out in Chicago, or if he would like for them to pursue a deal to trade him to a team that is very close to winning a Cup or a team that is closer to his home and family.
Few things that factor into things as well that I think don't get covered enough, IF he does say he's willing to waive for team X, Y, and Z, do any of the teams he'd be willing to go to even have A.) Interest/Fit B.) Cap Space (Short Term/Long Term). Also, how does their teams future roster look going forward with the Expansion Draft down the road as DK would have to be protected due to his NTC. Also, what guarantees if any, would he be willing to give the Hawks that he will not retire during the life of his contract? Remember, if he retires early, due to the new CBA, the recapture penalty would count against the Hawks cap space even if he wasn't on the team. Trading him is not a simple matter at all.

I don't know if it's my favourite moment at a Blackhawks game, but it's one that stands out.
A few years ago I saw the Blackhawks play in Vancouver with a buddy, we had seats up in the nose bleed section. We ended up sitting net to a father and his young son (maybe about 10 years old) and the kid's face lit up when he saw me wearing a Blackhawks jersey. It turns out the father and son were also Blackhawks fans, but the father told me that his son is afraid to wear his Blackhawks jersey to a game because the last time he did that he was picked on by a group Canucks fans. Luckily the Hawks won the game that night, I did allI could to involve that kid in every cheer and goal celebration that night. Hopefully he was able to wear his Blackhawks jersey to future games. |

I'll be honest, I really can't see Stan getting moved out this summer. While most of us were ready to move him out a few years ago, I think the front office wants to give him a chance to fix this and I think this summer will be his last chance to do so. He's shown with the deals you've mentioned, that he can identify and make good deals. So they'll be willing to give him a shot to make a few moves to put a Playoff team together next year. His team with his coach. If it goes south then there's absolutely no way you can keep him around.
