Why is Eks rumor have a hawks photo attached to it? - nickmo2699
Because it’s probably going to be DUNCAN Kieth, and uncle Lou is getting ready to pants Stan Bowman. |

I heard Duncan Keith's name linked with the Canucks, who fit that category. - walleyeb1
Fits Keith's category of where he'd be willing to wave to go to maybe. But it makes zero sense for the Canucks who are in the midlle of a rebuild themselves |

Yeah, and who knows how long he was playing with the nagging injury before finally biting the bullet and getting it repaired. Could have been all of last year since, if I'm him, not going to go out for an extended period right after a trade and take the risk of losing my spot.
Toews had knee surgery last summer (IIRC), so what was it that was bothering him and for how long? Has that been part of his resurgence? - pdx2ord
Great points, for sure. Just to throw this out there too, but could this be the same case for Seabrook? Could he be working his way through some sort of injury? I'm fuzzy on the timeline, but wasn't it a few years ago, maybe during the playoffs, where the team had to carry him to the plane, due to his pain? Didn't his drop in performance coincide with this? |

If any of this is even remotely true, this is what everyone on this board dislikes about the front office. On what planet does McD have the understanding of the sport to even suggest a move of this magnitude? If he has this power and involvement in the front office and the truth comes to light I will never watch another Blackhawks game if that idiot is employed by the organization.

23 yrs I boycotted this franchise, had enough of Dollar Bill. The man died late Spetember 2007 and I ordered a 10 game package that night, 2 more thru the season and season tix the next yr. ...... What happened was I was introduced to magnificent hockey at low pro and juniors to fill the void. How very lucky I was as I follow both to this day.

Think I’m higher on Beaudin rn than Boqvist but Boqvist may have the higher ceiling - Assman22
Boqvist is the real deal. He just needs to physically mature. IIRC, he was a few days from being eligible for this year's draft.
I have Beaudin 4th on my list behind Mitchell, Joki, and Boqvist. |

Beaudin and Mitchell will be the better all around defenders compared to Boqvist. Jokiharju is on a good trajectory toward that mold of a solid 200-foot defender. However, Boqvist may have the best offensive talent and vision by a wide margin. |

So, before next season, you’d like to trade off everyone except 8 players (2 G, 2 C, 2 W, 2 D), and you’d like picks and prospects back? So the remainder of the roster will be filled with rookies and career AHLers?
That team would be worse than the Kansas City Scouts & California Golden Seals.and yes, I saw both those teams in person. - scottak

Guys on the Kings with NMC are Kopitar, Doughty Kovy and 2 of those were Blake deals.
Thompson and Dion were traded contracts, again Blake.
Though Thompson is done this year and Dion in 2 years so those will be off the books soon.
Brown is limited he can submit a list of 7 teams he cannot go to. That was a Lombardi deal.
Quick can be moved, Carter can be moved.. That is over 10 million in cap space right there. - fsanford
Except Carter has pretty much said he will retire if he is traded. |

I think plenty of playoff teams would want Saad or Murphy to add depth. Murphy on the 3rd pair as he's played this year would boost plenty of teams. Saad on line 2/3, if playing to his potential, is a big boost. I'm just not sure why the Hawks trade these guys as they are young enough to be part of a the rebuild..... - EnzoD
I would have to agree: unless there are trades that are no brainers as far as favorable returns, keep Saad and Murphy in the fold for the reasons you stated. As they near contract renewal time, then evaluate that state of the team and where they fit in (or don't) depending on how the youngest roster players like DeBrincat, Strome, Jokiharju, etc. and prospects have developed. |

I feel like these 18 games for Dahlstrom have kind of been up and down. The first about 12 games or so, he was great with Murphy, but maybe the last 5-6 games he was starting to make more mistakes or just get beat with speed. I think time will tell, but I don't know which Dahlstrom we will get long term. He definitely has gotten some tough assignments and a lot of Dzone time, so I think that plays into his rougher advanced stats, especially when your team is bad at transition to the attack. - breadbag
Dahlstrom is a rookie. He is going to be inconsistent. He also has been getting tough match-ups and is holding his own. I think some(not you btw) expect all players to step in and be a finished product. Personally, I like what I have seen from Dahlstrom and want to see how he bounces back from a rough patch |

Oh, didn't know you were down in the confederecy. Your info thingy said Illinois. Yea man, I'd pay to see Seguin, Klingenberg, Faska, Radulov, Heiskanen and Benn for 25 bucks. Same thing in Columbus.
But if you were here this Saturday you could see Tommy Hawk, get Brandon Bollig autograph and see newly acquired Hawk draft pick Josia Slavin for 10 bucks a ticket: https://www.chicagosteelh.../news_article/show/990176

Agree. This rough spell will be good for Dahlstrom's long-term growth so it's actually great he is going through it now in a lost season rather than during a run for a playoff berth. He may not have been called up or at least not been given as much tether if the latter was the case.
The same needs to go for Jokiharju. I don't mind him sitting out a game here or there to learn from the press box. But if he's in the lineup, I don't like the low TOI. Let him learn and grow through the rough patches at 17-20 minutes a game. |

His subtle attempt at a big trade is Saad for Bode Wilde - Assman22
Just what the Hawks need - another 19 year old RHD that hasn't played a game as a professional yet.

Totally agree on Jokiharju. The kid's reactions when he makes a mistake tells me a lot about him. He knows it right away. Gets angry with himself.
Let the kid play.

Dots, I too think/thought the deal would get better the closer to the deadline until reading this, laying out that the buyers will have the power closer to the deadline. Read and comment if you can: https://www.sportsnet.ca/...whats-come-buyers-market/ - Mr Ricochet
Thanks for the read, interesting how Dubas said it was serendipitous, interesting choice of words? He knows he got one helluva player for almost a 2nd round draft pick. Other than Parayko what defenseman is on the market that's going to help you on a playoff run and don't tell me Dougie? Blake hurt the Kings today.

I've seen Mitchell and Boqvist play in the WJC a few weeks ago and a couple other games that we're on TV. I haven't seen Beaudin play in a real game - just Hawks camps and prospect tourney. From that limited viewing - I'm not seeing much from Mitchell to match what others are saying about him. From what I've seen Boqvist and Beaudin look much better than Mitchell, especially considering Mitchell is a year older than B&B.
