Friedman can pontificate all he wants, but the issue is none of the NMC guys are going to agree to be moved unless it is to a team with a shot at the cup. With TOR getting Muzzin, not many contenders have enough cap space to sign any of our very former all-stars - most importantly their remaining term.

Yes, the Hawks are terrible, not getting much better, and they have no chips to trade but the few kids TBD with TBD potential, Saad and AA.

Stan made a few minor net positive deals to get a little cap space and to dump Tinkerbell before he joined the ranks of those re-upped to big deals only to disappoint (see: B Saad).

Bleeding has stopped, but there are no units of blood in the freezer that will thaw out in time to make this team relevant any time soon.

Cause Canadians and Europeans are weirdos.

The theory is using the dominant hand(right in most cases) on the top of the stick for better control.

- Elbows15

That makes sense to me. In college, my roommates played hockey. Whenever we played in the hallway of the dorm with a tennis ball, I always used a left-handed stick. However, I also batted left-handed in baseball, so I thought it may have just been me.

2020 class is pretty interesting to me.

There are some names on there that would be mighty nice fits with the 'Hawks, like Kreider, Dadonov, Granlund, B. Schenn, Toffoli, Coyle. They're all enticing forward options who shouldn't break the bank. One or two of those guys added to next year's lineup makes for a really enticing 2020-2021 team.

I think defense will be addressed/prioritized this offseason instead.

It was reported that PANARIN is looking for Tavares money 7 years 11 million.
That means Stan is out of the running

If we finish in the bottom 5 we could definitely have a top 5 pick in our lineup next year, probably a forward. If we can move AA we would have enough to add a 3C forward and top 4 defender.

People said Crow was done before this season. When he came back he was very good. He is already back on the ice now. I am not saying he should or should not play again. That is his decision (and his medical advisors). But I would say he will be back before the end of this season. I think the type of hits he took are outside the norm and it would be very possible he could go through a full season next year without such a hit.

I am ok with the same basic team with a healthy Crow, a full year with Strome, a top 5 pick at RW on the Toews/Saad line, a FA top 4 defender, a really good FA 3C, further development of our younger players and maturation of our prospects in juniors or at the Rock (Boqvist, Beaudin, Kurashev, Barrat, etc.). Maybe not next year, but the following year could be pretty good.

No matter how you slice it Crawford is done . He poses more of a risk with his 2nd concussion in less than a year.

At this point they have to play Delia and see if this kid has what it takes to be a starter and their future goalie. Should Crawford stick around I see Chicago using him in a role similar to Marty Turco, that allows the team to still play him and protect him while giving the reins full time to Delia,

If Crawford is healthy enough to play he will be the team's number one goalie. It's hard to justify a backup goalie with a salary 8 times more than the starter.

I respectfully disagree with your point. Crawford would be in his final year and Chicago has to find out by playing Delia if he is their future. Theirmis no guarantee after next season Crawford will play again. I think his health is more important, he can always make up his salary by being a commentator or goalie coach if he wants to.

I think you have to be honest about the situation , his health and the teams future goalie situation.

Chicago is highly unlikely next year going to be a serious contender and they may just barely be a playoff team.

Regarding Crawford's salary and your point about why they would justify playing him. You have to look at how this played out and Chicago not being prepared .

Forsberg they lost confidence in him. Chicago would have had 3 years to develop a starter and finding his replacement if he was healthy now with his 2nd concussion in less than a year and Delia catching everyone's attention they need to see more , next year if Crawford returns with his 2nd concussion in mind and who ultimately will becom3 their starter they need to play Delia more while protecting Crawford as much as they can.

Why? With the way he overpaid everyone on this team he will give him 14 mln and obligatory NMC. Whether its good for Hawks depends on your view - if you think they can contend in a year or two or need 5-10 year rebuild after this aging core with NMC and bloated contracts is gone.

Unless you personally have word from Keith or he has told someone what his trade destination is, fans will be
perculating over a cold topic. Where he says he would go - if anywhere - is entirely speculative and worthless ol

That Keith is under trade consideration IF TRUE doesn't mean he will be traded. Although if traded now he is likely
worth more but what if only one team wants him. You will not get much for him

If Stan cannot secure at least an early 2nd round pick for Keith (same as my view on Gustafsson), the Hawks would be stupid to trade him. A middle round pick is trading him for next to nothing. Injuries notwithstanding, they'll have more opportunities.

How many three-time Cup champion defensemen that can still skate are available with a favorable cap hit going forward? It is hard to say how far Keith has really dropped given the Hawks sub-optimal defense around him. And playing with Gustafsson (defensive boat anchor) a chunk of the time.

Actually it is worth keeping Gustafsson to keep Keith off of the power play.

If Panarin and his agent insist on those numbers the list of interested NHL teams will be short, as in low single digits.

I can't see Stan paying him more money than his 2 stars toews and Kane.

Also Chicago can't afford to pay out more than 9 million while still trying to fill other badly needed holes to be filled.

Saad and Ansimov most likely get moved for picks and prospects to build depth.

Kruger, Hayden,, Kunitz only get you a 4th thru 7th round draft pick doesn't really scream success.

Thats right . Islanders, new york rangers, Boston and a few other teams with cap space will pay it. Matthews, Mitch marner, laine those require picks or prospects due to their status.

I think it's fair to say that the article was a bit misleading. Their is no way Stan would allow a article to be published that they will ask Keith.

My take is that conversation has already taken place and Keith has already agreed to a trade probably based on the teams he would consider.

Now this article IMO was a way to slowly prepare fans that Keith could be moved or will be moved.
