We are over analyzing it, Joki though he would be at the Rock this year and made Valentines reservations at Lino's. Stan is just making sure he can go. - riozzo
Seems like a nice classic old school Italian restaurant.

This is typical Hawk pre deadline bull crap...... And where is Stan Bowman ? Most agree he should get out in front of this and let his paying fan base know a bit what is going on.
Other teams are doing just that. Too many cooks in the kitchen here and no cook book for recipes, makes for upcoming free agents to want to continue to steer clear of here this summer.
These guys should be thinking Jack Hughes or Kappo Kaakko for starters, screw going on a run and all of a sudden finish 7 th or 8 th in the draft lotto. Then what , you get some club foot from an overseas beer league.
Bowman has got to have several multi homer games coming up in the near future otherwise he's done . Most believe he's got this spring and summer to fix it or else.
I agree with those that say Kieth and or Seabrooke will only move if they want to.
Hopefully things will start moving, a good start is getting some GM to believe Eric Gussteffson in Swedish means Paul Coffey. Get busy Stan! - wonthecup10
Love your posts so much That's a gem lol (NOT sarcasm)

its reported Duchene wants more then 8 mil per year. UFA's are going to cost a lot this off season. SAAD's contract will look cheap. AA 5 mil owed after July 1 will look cheap. and can we afford to spend 10 mil on a top 6 forward? |

He was playing 20 minutes a night as the #2 dman on the team when Quenneville was coach. Playing on Keith's right side he was excellent. There is nothing more he could have done in the WHL...if you're good enough to make the Big Leagues, you should play there. It's baffling to me Colliton's usage of Jokiharju....
EDIT: Joki goes down to dominate the AHL and be the #1 Dman on Rockford. Fine, no problem there. I'm viewing this as a tank move bc I think Joki is better than Koekkek and Forsling - EnzoD
Because Stan sucks and Colliton is a minor league coach with ZERO experience behind an NHL bench before his promotion. I’ve said my piece on JC previously, I expect him to be fired long before the Hawks again contend for a Stanley Cup. |

Or are the free agents going to end up like MLB, waiting by the phone for the big offer that never comes. |

For what it's worth, I remember hearing Kane/Toews wanted 12 million. Nylander wanted at least 8. I think player's agents will report their client wants a huge salary all the time, but what they get often isn't what they reportedly want. Supply and demand will dictate what the get and not all "top 6" guys will get what Duchene might.
If things do get out of hand for salary, the Hawks just need to take a step back and let the other GMs shoot themselves in the foot. |

Identify your core, sign the core to the big contracts with long term, fill in around the edges. If going for the cup, trade for a pending FA, and hope it works. So what happens is when free agency hits, the big money is spent on who already is there (at least the good teams, and the free agents who want the big bucks are scrapping for the chum.

I know you're just the messenger but that just seems backwards to me. Vegas is a team like the other 30 so they should be subjected to the same player exposure rules AND get a cut of the expansion fee from Seattle. Also, by the time Seattle enters the league, Vegas will be 4 years in and they're already one of the better teams in the NHL in their first 2 seasons. - AEL_Fox
Maybe, but their players won't be a part of the expansion draft nor will they share in monies for the franchise fee.

Not thrilled by the decision and it only makes sense to this observer if Joki is playing big minutes in RFD. However, the kid is 19 and playing him sporadically to get other D-men time would even be a worse decision. Joki needs to play. |

Duchene makes 7M now. Doubt he is looking for less. Hockey GMs can't help themselves. Someone will overpay for Duchene. I hope it isn't the Hawks. |

It will probably depend on the term he wants. The more term the less he probably gets year over year. |

It looks like the team has the same ideas. I get his Corsi numbers are best on the team, but there is more to being an NHL D-man than that. (not directed at you).

Jeremy Colliton said the Blackhawks want Henri Jokiharju playing major minutes in all situations in Rockford. Said he still has trouble physically sometimes as a 19YO. "We don't want him playing just to survive. We want him to excel." Says the team still loves him.

You can add a $10 mil forward if you do not want to add a quality defender. You need to move a contract like AA if you want to add a stud forward and stud defender.

Hey there Breaddy Kruger! I'm actually thinking he goes FLA. Maybe Trotz puts a good sell job on him and he goes there, but I think he goes south. |

And they have less prospects since they have only gone through 2 drafts. Think of how many players the Hawks control that were drafted before 2017.

All the talk is him wanting max term. Someone will give it to him. Supposedly he already turned down 8x8M AAV from the Sens. I can think of 5 teams off the top of my head that are in dire need of top 6 centers.
I really hope it isn't the Hawks. Can't say that enough. lol

Dahlstrom & Murphy have had the highest percentage of D zone starts, by far, as well as the strongest opponents, also by far.
Joki, Keith & Gus have had nearly identical O zone starts, highest on the team, and also almost identical opponent strength.
Looking at everything, the guys that have been the worst are Forsling and Kookoo. If anyone should be sent down it’s Forsling. Both the eye test and the underlying numbers indicate he’s not going to make it in the NHL. Showcasing him can only hurt your chances of trading him, because he’s not very good. |

Too early to start thinking about the expansion draft as a fan. A lot can change over the course of the next two season and a half. |

Florida makes sense since he has a home there. The market, tho? Questionable. Maybe he sparks some ticket sales.
I think he wants a bigger stage. As it were. |
