One would think that a 1st round pick in this “loaded draft” would hold some good value

In 3 years Dahlin is 21 and Eichel is 25-26. I didn’t know our cup window was closed when that happened. Having a bunch of young studs to supplement those players would be something else don’t you think ?

Dahlin tonight at 5v5 had a 64.4% CF% (corsi) and 73.9% SCF% (scoring chances for) and was responsible for double digit controlled breakouts ...

oh and also has 2 assists and was +4 (had to say it twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming).

I said Dahlin would be a top 5 d-man by the age of 21. He is well on way. Might even get there by playoff time next season if he continues on this trajectory.

Skinner was a 50 point guy regularaly with one 63 point season his rookie year. Eichel is a top 3 playmaker in the NHL and Skinner is clearly benefitting from it. I think we could defintely get a first rounder at the deadline for him if we aren't able to sign him but I thought the price we paid for him as a rental was fair. Eichel could probably make Dzingel or Nyquist 65 point guys too and we can sign them for free in the offseason.

That was a fun game ! What WASN'T fun was waking up at 2:30 to dig my car out and use the snowblower so I could take my wife to the airport. And of course the plows came by during the time using the snowblower, which added more snow to the front of the driveway. Effing snow !!! Looked to be about 8-10 inches of snowfall overnight. I hate winter.
