Well it wasn't pretty and it got ugly at times but that's a big win
- Stripes77

I didn't know the 31st team from 6 months ago needed to beat established playoff teams so overwhelmingly in their own barn. I like your high standard
but I think thy protest too much

You mean the pick the entire scouting community was shocked by as he wasn’t ranked above 50 by any scouting community ? The bruins ruined a wet dream. It’s possible Botts franks up the draft too but he can also frank up trading away all of our assets with nothing to show for it like Murray did. I prefer the patience approach. The Bruins did everything right just picked the wrong players in 2015. The 2019 has some good depth this year in terms of forwards. We can snag a few pretty good wingers where we are sitting right now.

Fine, Lawson Crouse. JFC, guy...

Edit: Crouse was rated ahead of Marner.

Price is probably way too high. Also would require some cap hit going the other way that Philly might not want to take. Or philly doesn’t want to trade him.
- Pegullaville

It’s 4.3mil for him i think
You can’t stand losing say Beaulieu & Girgs to make Cap Room for him?

And obviously this would be if a reasonable trade could be made

But none of that answers why after next season instead of after this season?

I can just see it...

Botts- “sorry Philly, we don’t wanna trade for Couts THIS season... get back to us after next year”

Philly GM- literally laughs out loud & says,
“No problem, we’ll just trade him elsewhere”

*doesn’t specifically have to be Couturier-
he’s just an example
Sub in whatever guy Botts may like

After looking at the strength of the 2015 draft can anyone with a straight face tell me that Boston had the wrong apaproach going with three first rounders in a deep draft ? We can all agree that their amateur scouting staff shouldn’t be scouting timbits hockey but not that they had the wrong approach.

This years draft has more talent then any draft since that year. Now 2015 was a special class, this won’t have as many stars past the top 15.
However there will be some players taken this year we are talking about for a long time. It’s up to Botts to hit on those picks but we are in a very good situation.

He's not top-6. He's a 4th line player. Can easily play 3rd, and can slide up from there if needed
- jcragcrumple

Sensible, but in another game or 2, I'm going to start hearing about BU-chemistry again.

Yeah I was one of Erod’s biggest fans last year.

He was just beyond terrible from the eye test to start this year

- sbroads24

He's very likeable.

2 goals in 45 games to start the season= not as likeable

4 goals in 4 games
Likeable again

I’m sure if Couts was available the price would
Be sky high. Im also sure someone in the media with a pulse would know he’s on the market. I’d trade the SJS first for Konecny or Provorov too but I doubt they are available.

Right, those guys just aren’t available like that.

Young players get traded for each other

Johansen for Jones

Drouin for Sergachev

Domi for Galchenyuk.

The guys you get straight up for a 1st are Ryan Hartman. No thanks

Dahlin with 2 assists and was a +4 tonight. Advanced stats have been predicting this kind of output for some time now

Took him a while...
But he’s looking like E Rod from last year
Early this year was rough for him

- jdfitz77

I agree, as well as , the lack of impact from Sheary, during same time frame....which has me thinking that their sudden push isn't a waking up but rather a possible small nagging injuries could've been hampering both E-Rod, Sheary,

Okposo is not close to scoring at near the level of his contract, but he made a number of Strong plays when we needed them, smart and strong player, hope he can find his scoring touch again but to not mention his impact is amiss.

Am I the only pleasantly surprised by Hunwick's speed and play.

He’s probably not gonna get moved
We don’t know who is available & who isn’t
He was just an example

And now you’re willing to trade a 1st after going on & on & on for weeks that you wouldn’t?
Make up your mind

Obviously no on here is trading a 1st for Coyle or Muzzin
It would be for a good, young-ish player that would be here for years

Bugs me that Phil dropped him off the PP tonight, and even more since it was for Okposo.

Phil needed to change the pp.

Probably the wrong change though....

Maybe the Sabres are showcasing okposo for the 24 different team scouts

I’m telling you I’m keeping the pick becuase the probability of us trading for that said young player with a late first is just as good of the probbality of us drafting that said player and devolving him ourselves. Idk many GM’s that are willing to trade a young player rebuilding or not unless like Sbroads said its for another young player.

Skinner waived his NTC to come here.

And you have said like 5 times tonight that was an outlier trade

Like Berglund?
Or Sobotka?

Let’s keep wasting years of Jack, & now Dahlin as well, by bringing in more guys like that...
no freaking thank you!

Trading parts for Skinner is an anomaly
Need to give to get
Trading a pick(s) to help build this team is a viable option

- jdfitz77

Skinner is 26 years old. Not 22 years old or younger like most of those said players in that post at the time of the trade.

It's Phil, he thinks he owes it to Okposo to do everything possible to get him going. He's a player's coach, to a fault at times.

I'd move a prospect and a few mid round picks for him
