Montreal acquiring Jeff Carter would be a perfect fit. Habs lack center depth if an injury happens to their top 3. Carter would be a great piece to add. Nice PP boost as well. But I'd say the Habs would probably go after Brassard if they went down that road of looking to get an experienced center before the deadline.

I definitely agree Stone is better. But that's the only decent roster player I see Edmonton parting with. Obviously they'd have to sweeten with a pick or whatever. But I think RNH gets the conversation started. Plus, I remember The Nug being connected to Ottawa in rumours in the past.

On Panarin...
There is some renewed hope as the agent for Panarin is setting up a new meeting with the Jackets. This doesn't mean Panarin is returning, but there is at least some hope here...If there is hope you need to give Columbus management a TON of credit for handling this situation so well. Panarin has been obvious about his desire to leave and the Jackets have been just saying, "Ok, well you are here now. No hard feelings..." The Jackets NEVER got into a pissing match with Panarin or Bobrovsky...This meeting could also just be about the trade deadline and agents often play into trades...Perhaps Panarin's agent has a few teams he could talk to now for an extension and that could give Columbus a better return if they are willing to move him NOW.

Yeah like I said he's actually surprisingly good at find soft spots in the defense so he can get a shot off, he just doesn't make much happen himself.

Right now the Flyers need to win about 76% of their points to make it into the race, 9 more losses would basically mean winning out the rest of the year and hoping everyone above loses a lot.
