Creativity and puck control.

He's got good hands, but he doesn't create much on his own. Despite his reputation he doesn't really drive the front of the net with the puck the way you would think. Instead he tends to plant and scrum or float to find a soft spot in the defense (he's shockingly good at this).

But if you're playing him with lesser skilled guys (I.E. he doesn't have Aho or Gaudreau feeding him the puck) he kind of becomes a non factor.

He's got average speed. His hands are good but not great. He's just... he's a really good complimentary piece in the top six, but don't count on him to carry a line or drag lesser players into battle because he can't.

- BINGO!

I always saw Ferland as a great 3rd liner on a good team, he's just that guy that clutches one in when needed.

That's a bad offer. Or as the French say:

"A really, really bad offer"

DANGIT!
Okay... I'll revamp the trade... but THIS is my final offer Dorion!!

To Philly:
-Mark Stone

To Ottawa:
-2019 2nd Round Pick (Lottery Protected 1st if Re-signed)
-2020 2nd Round Pick
-Andrew MacDonald
-Anthony Stolarz

That's it... I'm walking away Dorion. Waaaaalking awaaaayyyy. Waaaaaaaaalking awaaaaaaaaayyyyy.

I definitely agree Stone is better. But that's the only decent roster player I see Edmonton parting with. Obviously they'd have to sweeten with a pick or whatever. But I think RNH gets the conversation started. Plus, I remember The Nug being connected to Ottawa in rumours in the past.
- PavohnDatsvares

No one is giving the Sens a useful roster player for two months of Stone. They're going to get some picks and B level prospects.

Flames would probably be willing to give up their first, Kylington, and like a Foo or Mangiapane.

There's also no chance they give up Bennett.

I'll tell you what I WOULD love, is Stone to Calgary for Matthew Tkachuk. Then we could have a Tkachuk brothers lol

Obviously not gonna happen. But it's fun to think about.

- PavohnDatsvares

and the Flames get the Stone brothers.

Because he loves living in Ottawa in the winter.

He believes in the direction of the team.

He is confident that Melnyk is sincere when he says he is committed to putting a strong team on the ice.

He thinks the Senators have a strong core, with Bobby Ryan and Gaborik and the benefits they derive from still paying Phaneuf.

Because he wants to play with Duchesne next year.

How many reasons do you need?

It's more that he's not that good on his own and doesn't create much unless Aho, Teravainen or Gaudreau are bouncing pucks off of him into the net.

Yeah like I said he's actually surprisingly good at find soft spots in the defense so he can get a shot off, he just doesn't make much happen himself.

All it would take is one team to offer a decent prospect and Ottawa would forget the Flyers exist. Adding junk to a deal does nothing.

Ferland has 7 destinations and Dzingel has only 5?

That is craziness. This time of year there is so much wierd and wacky, fantastic stuff I don't know where to turn next...

but Ferland vs. Dzingel ... that is a whole 'nother level of lunacy.

Patriots vs. Rams has nothing on this.

What if we throw in Weise and 10kg of Lehtera's coke?

Perhaps we introduce Dorion to Lehtera's supply before negotiating a deal?

Hmm that 10 kilos would be roughly 300K...Dorion does need the money

Yes. GMs will not want to be caught napping for 5 1/2 hours when it comes to Ferland. Not as much muscle and sandpaper as Brassard mind you. But no other player in the NHL has that.

Even the Sharks are in on Stone... well why wouldn't they? They can name their price apparently for anything coming from Ottawa... we know Sharks have no meaningful picks to offer, and we know Dorion incapable of getting any prospect with pedigree (maybe Josh Norris is the exception... maybe) so how about:

To Sharks:
- Mark Stone

To Sens:
- young hockey executive with Asst. GM upside
- negotiator for Lebreton / Trinity talks
- 1 hockey analytics department (with Macbooks)
- 1 office manager
- 1 other adult who's kid plays hockey and knows Brady Tkachuk (does not necessarily need to know him directly, kinda like 7-degrees of Kevin Bacon)
- conditional 2nd in 2022

- grim

I made a typo as I was talking to two different people about two different teams. Honest mistake. I addressed it and corrected it.

And I haven't changed my offer once. The original proposal of RNH + for Stone still stands. As I explained that was contingent on him extending in Edmonton.

The only other 'offer' isn't actually a different offer. It's just a condition that if he doesn't extend, then it would be Ottawa coughing up the extras.

So yeah. Same offer like 5 different messages now.

But thanks for getting salty and acting Agamemnon. Don't worry, when you get a little older, these things won't bother you as much.

Good luck!

- PavohnDatsvares

ahhhhhhh......getting too complicated. Just extend the dude for 8 x 9.8
