So you wouldn't even consider the following
If Stone DOESN'T extend in Edmonton
To OTT: RNH
To EDM: Stone, 2020 1st. Which basically means trading RNH for an early first next draft.
If Stone DOES extend
To OTT: RNH, + some package
To EDM: Stone and maybe something else
Both deals are actually quite decent for both teams.
For the record, I don't see Edmonton as a trading partner for a Stone move. I'm just spit balling off the three teams the blog mentioned - PavohnDatsvares
But you said the Oilers would need to add, to back that up you have a 1st going to Edmonton, completely going off the rails now! |

Business is business, but man would that be a big F you to Voracek after the contributions he's made to the Flyers while he's been here. - turdadactyl
Voracek, when he's on, is second to Evgeni Malkin at using his frame to protect the puck with skill. He's also one of the best playmakers in the league.
However, when he's off, he's invisible. He's maddeningly inconsistent, and his lack of defensive play is inexcusable. He can be a point per game player, in a good year, as he has shown. But he's prone to prolonged cold spells, can't carry his own line, and makes Nikolai Zherdev look like Patrice Bergeron defensively. |

Even the Sharks are in on Stone... well why wouldn't they? They can name their price apparently for anything coming from Ottawa... we know Sharks have no meaningful picks to offer, and we know Dorion incapable of getting any prospect with pedigree (maybe Josh Norris is the exception... maybe) so how about:
To Sharks:
- Mark Stone
To Sens:
- young hockey executive with Asst. GM upside
- negotiator for Lebreton / Trinity talks
- 1 hockey analytics department (with Macbooks)
- 1 office manager
- 1 other adult who's kid plays hockey and knows Brady Tkachuk (does not necessarily need to know him directly, kinda like 7-degrees of Kevin Bacon)
- conditional 2nd in 2022 - grim

That's all nice... but you missed the original point where he gets traded to Edmonton and signs there, not Ottawa... - obie
It pretty much works exactly with Edmonton, though. |

Do you not understand the word CONDITIONS?
I'll REPEAT myself.
For an extended Stone, yes, the Oilers have to add. Just RNH is not enough. No one on here will disagree with that.
For a NON extended Stone, OTTAWA has to add if they want Nug.
I don't know how much more clear I can make it. |

Glad there’s a few rumours in the blog today because I don’t care about great allstar moments, I come for the rumours only. Just a quick correction though I’m pretty sure free agency is 5 months and 4 days not 6. |

You've changed your proposal like a dozen times now, even the teams didn't match up in one of your posts and you asking how much clearer you can make it? Good work!! Stone to Calgary for RNH + it is... oh wait, was that it? |

Thing with Ferland is he's technically capable of playing in the top half of the lineup. In fact you basically have to play him there because he's next to useless anywhere else.
Tell me more about this Bingo - whats his drawbacks? - paulozz
Creativity and puck control.
He's got good hands, but he doesn't create much on his own. Despite his reputation he doesn't really drive the front of the net with the puck the way you would think. Instead he tends to plant and scrum or float to find a soft spot in the defense (he's shockingly good at this).
But if you're playing him with lesser skilled guys (I.E. he doesn't have Aho or Gaudreau feeding him the puck) he kind of becomes a non factor.
He's got average speed. His hands are good but not great. He's just... he's a really good complimentary piece in the top six, but don't count on him to carry a line or drag lesser players into battle because he can't. |

His biggest drawback is that he's not capable of playing in the top half of the lineup - eichiefs9
It's more that he's not that good on his own and doesn't create much unless Aho, Teravainen or Gaudreau are bouncing pucks off of him into the net. |

I made a typo as I was talking to two different people about two different teams. Honest mistake. I addressed it and corrected it.
And I haven't changed my offer once. The original proposal of RNH + for Stone still stands. As I explained that was contingent on him extending in Edmonton.
The only other 'offer' isn't actually a different offer. It's just a condition that if he doesn't extend, then it would be Ottawa coughing up the extras.
So yeah. Same offer like 5 different messages now.
But thanks for getting salty and acting Agamemnon. Don't worry, when you get a little older, these things won't bother you as much.
Good luck! |

Any educated guesses at what Calgary, Edmonton, or Philly could offer for Stone?
If any of those three are 'your' team, could you please enlighten us on what assets you think your respective GM's might be offering?
My wild guesses...
Edmonton - RNH??? Which may be a lateral move in a sense.
Calgary - NO idea. Package of underwhelming prospects and picks?
Philly - Again, NO idea. Package like Calgary? - PavohnDatsvares
I'm sure there are teams who are willing to throw in their 1st rounder, but here is my offer from the Flyers:
To Flyers:
-Mark Stone
To Ottawa:
-2019 3rd Round (Upgraded to 2nd if Stone Re-signs)
-2020 3rd Round (Upgraded to 2nd if Stone Re-signs)
-Scott Laughton
-Robert Hagg

I was really just (frank)ing around. I know pretty much nothing about Ferland, other than that some idiot is going to pay him probably $3M more than he's worth. |

100%
Dude's asking for over $6 million per, so Carolina was like "well, (frank) that noise. We'll just go get Nino instead and now he gets to play with Aho. We'll take the picks, thanks." |
