They'll have a tough go of it. Probably play the Bruins, who seem to have their number, in the first round. Then if they survive, most likely play the Lightning. - boilermaker100
The healthier team will win as they generally do. Who ever skates the Cup in June will have earned it. |

Strangely the Leafs seem to have Tampa's number. I imagine the Leafs and their fans are hoping Muzzin helps them with their defensive zone problems when they play the Bruins. |

The toughest part of this season, outside of maybe the top 4 teams in the league, the Hawks matchup pretty well with most playoff teams. The Bruins are solid but the Hawks should of beat them in the WC. Dallas, Min, COL, all have lost to the Hawks. We may actually be 2-3 players away from a playoff spot.
It's somewhat encouraging |

nice write up on the DK. hopefully he comes over next year. - kmw4631
I read that article over the weekend. The Blackhawk Up article is okay and describes Kubalik as a Panik type of fiesty winger with 20/20 potential like Panik did in his one good year. The original article, though, that the Blackhawk Up article links to is too rosy eyed for my tastes and pumps his tires quite a bit. |

I totally agree with this statement .HAWKS have played the big teams tough lately .I believe after some tough 1 goal losses to Cag Nas Vegas at the beginning of the year the FO is ready to admit there is not time to turn it around this year . They now ready to make moves for the future . I think if Stan holds AA to the last minute he could get a late 1st pick ,if not hold on to him . I also believe if Ward agrees to be moved HAWKS could pick up a 3rd or 4th . GM know Ward warts and all ,and trust him as a emergency back up over a young kid . I would not move Gus unless they get a real nice offer as a 1st or 2nd and prospect . The rest Kruger maybe a 3rd .Hold onto Saad and Keith and less someone backs up the truck load of picks and prospects .
Personally I am hoping they make a run and some other teams stumble and the HAWKS grab the last playoff spot ,hey LA grab the final spot and won a cup .Its a crazy game and you never know ..GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Agree the Hawks play the good teams well, but then they lay an egg against teams like NJ and NYR.
I think the good teams "play down" to the competition when playing the Hawks, much like the Hawks did in the glory years.

I was thinking about who I would like to target this TDL, and I'm focusing on players that could help us get good picks or prospects.
Do you think Anaheim would give us anything to take Del Zotto? Especially if we sent them Gus or Dahlstrom.
What about getting Callahan from TB? I know he has another year, but we have some space, and we don't have to sign ADB and Strome until after next season when his hit is off the books. We could also buy him out. This would save 3M next year, and only cost 1.6M the following year. I think we would have to be part of a 3 team trade, since I don't think we have anything TB wants.
Anyone else with a bad contract for up until the end of next season? |

Actually not that strange, both teams like to play wide open offensive hockey because they have terrific forwards. I would pick the Leafs to beat Tampa in a 7 game series if both were healthy. And both teams need their #1 goalies to be really good. That's were Anderson has something to prove, not too sure he can win 16 playoff games.

Just enjoy the games forget the playoff race, some very good games often played by non contenders.
And don't worry about the math either, Q is counting down on his abucus and will send you a formal notice via carrier pidgeon when it is officially over. |

Wasn't this pretty much the analysis on Leddy when he was coming up? - Assman22
Beaudin is ahead of where Leddy was defensively at this point in their development. Leddy is a much better skater. Beaudin is much smarter. Beaudin is sound defensively. |

The leafs and lighning are 1 and 1 this year.
Lightning won 3 of 4 last year.
Not sure what having Tampas number means?? |

For those looking to move AA, there are two centers with one year left on their contracts on TSN's Trade Bait List. Compare them to AA.
Brayden Schenn 27yrs old - 1 more year $5.13mil - 9G 27A - 6'1" 200lb
AA -30 yrs old - 1 more year $4,55mil - 8G 14A - 6'4", 198lb
Charlie Coyle 26 ys old - 1 more year $3.2mil - 9G 26A - 6'3" 220lb
Minny is currently in a playoff position by a mere 3 points. StL is 3 points out of playoff position. It bears watching. If those team are sellers at the TDL and choose to move Schenn and Coyle that may take down AA's value. If they are in playoff position and they decide to hold onto Coyle and Schenn that could increase AA's attractiveness because their are not many 3C available at a reasonable price cost controlled for another year.
I think they will not be able to move AA or Kruger. But if they do they will be lucky to get a 3rd or a 4th for AA and a 6th or 7th for Kruger. But even if they only get a 4th or 5th for AA they gain the all important cap space next year. That would give them enough room to sign a stud forward AND a top 4 Dman. |

The Leafs want to end their Cup drought as bad as the Hawks did in 2010, probably more so. - DarthKane
I want to win the lottery too but the odds are stacked against me just like they are in Toronto. Screw the Leafs...GO HAWKS!!! |
