Wonder if Ryan Murray would be a target of the Hawks. He's an RFA at the end of the year and if Columbus wants to resign at least Panarin they're likely going need to need to likely move him out. Dunno what exactly the scouting report is on him, but seems like a legit Top 4 Defensively responsible D-Man who can play 20 minutes a night. Other than that I don't know much. - Savetheembers33
I would like to see them go after Cam Fowler, Anaheim needs offense, they still have solid defenseman, (Lindholm, Manson,Moontour,) and they need cap relief. Also could go after Del Zotto as a UFA, he is only 28

I missed the part where goal scoring became the most important factor for a defenseman. Keith is still the best defenseman on the team, and at least a top 4 on most every team in the league. Top 2 on a few.
Seabrook & Keith will retire as Blackhawks. - scottak
I think everyone should stop over valuing Keith. Sure this year probably Stans last and best chance to move Keith.
Chicago has drafted and developed horribly . Hammer was the last defenseman drafted who actually became a top 4 player. Look back to all their defenseman since.
Chicago needs draft picks and promising young prospects. Rockford is lacking serious depth . |

Actually your wrong Keith is a easier move then Seabrook. A lot of GMs have interest in Keith his salary each year going forward would make him a solid trade.
Chicago wouldn't be eating any salary with Keith also Toronto is interested in Keith the question I believe is have they exhausted every option ? - Taylorst1
Keith to Toronto doesn't work unless we take a bad contract, or equivalent amount of salary back. They are probably going to pick up a UFA defenseman

Unfortunately he is still the best defenseman the Hawks have, so we are not overvaluing him to what he means to the team, which is probably greater than you can get on the trade market (or for that matter replacing him with a UFA) for him.

I never watch the skills competition. Watched some of the all star game, eh it was okay, honestly they should just get rid of it all together rather see a Blackhawks game, even if they suck. With HD TV don't need the puck tracer, hated the name icons. - BetweenTheDots
I still lose the puck, even in HD, sometimes. Like when they shoot really hard, or are in a kind of scrum for the puck in the corner or in front of the net. This seems to help keep track of it in those situations. I liked it, since it didn't really interfere with watching the game at all. I can see the players names always being there as a hindrance in being able to see everything though. |

That's not what I just read that dubas said, he said kap, Johansson and their 1st round pick is on the table. They realize you have to give to get he said also they must believe that they won't be able to resign that many players. |

I get it but it's a business and Chicago owes Keith and Seabrook nothing . You have to realize at some point holding onto guys who can't contribute or your teams path has changed.
Keith would be a solid veteran who could help a team that is a contender and give him the chance to do so.
Chicago as a organization will survive without Keith.

Well Keith is not right handed, and the Leafs are looking for right-handed defenseman, Keith is not even on their radar.

Good thoughts. By the way, I changed my lineup in a later post, by trading Gus and bringing in a UFA like Stralman too! - boilermaker100
Most of my post was affirming many of your thoughts so it was easier to write out my thoughts on this subject. |

I don't see them signing Stralman, we have a boatload of right handed defensemen on the team and in the pipeline as it is (Joki, Mithcell, Bovquist the young ones.) Under your line-up Murphy plays his offside. - LAHawk
I listed Murphy at LD because he can play both sides and did so last season. I believe Dahlstrom, Carlsson, and Hillman can play both sides, too. Not sure how well but they have more experience than Gustafsson and Jokiharju at it.
Get what you're saying about no room for RHD for someone like Stralman. If he's on a 2-year deal, then it's not that bad IMHO because it buys time for the RHD prospects to develop at an appropriate rate. If one of them is ready by Stralman's 2nd year, then trade him as other teams may covet his services assuming he is playing at a strong level. |

If it's down to those two: yes to Fowler, no to Del Zotto. |

Dislike the all star stuff. Think they should just give the lads a week off and call it a day.
Between the Hawks being very bad, the anticlimactic baseball off season and horrid weather this is a hat trick of poop. |

I am a proponent of hitting an icon when you like or agree with a post and a icon when you dislike or disagree with a post. Then in the upper corner of the posts it tabulates the net +/-.
I also would be ok with a feature where you can unfollow certain posters that are trolls, or that continue to post and repost the same themes, or are belligerent, or prone to be habitually factually inaccurate. (Similar to facebook where those posters would not appear in your feed.) |

Hawks already have enough bad D-men. Fowler is having a terrible season. He just signed an extension till forever. Hard pass for me.
And Del Zotto is injured every season. He is a bottom pair D-man on his best days. |

Fowler at 6.5? He hasn't progressed at all. And I wanted the Hawks to draft him but he really hasn't become the player I think most thought he would be.
He also is sporting a 42 CF% this season and has been a sub 50% player his whole career. |

Maybe I am wrong, but you have to be cap complaint including the LTIR player's salary the day the season starts. Then you put the player on LTIR the second day of the season and gain the cap space. - boilermaker100
You could be right, LTIR confuses me, but look at Detroit this season... they are 7.3M over the cap with about 10M on LTIR. How could they have possibly been compliant on day 1? I don't follow them closely enough to know exactly when Zetterberg and Franzen were placed on LTIR. |

Anyone have any news on Adam Boqvist? He's still above a point per game in London, but I can't find anything about his play since the WJC. |

Thanks for the intel on Fowler. Haven't followed him this year so my opinion was clearly skewed by prior years.
If he was performing at a top pair level, $6.5 would be great. Otherwise, yeah, not good. |

Jamie Oleksiak to Dallas for a 4th round pick - EnzoD
CORRECTION.
The pick that Dallas sent to Pittsburgh was actually Minnesota's 4th RD pick. The same pick Pittsburgh sent Dallas back on Dec 19th when the #Penguins acquired Oleksiak.
It's as if the initial trade between the two clubs never happened.

By far the NHL has the best all star game over NFL and NBA (MLB could be equal with World Series home team being decided).
I enjoyed watching the skills competition too with my 8 and 16 year old sons. Made we wish we had Gaudreau and Kane...both amazing handlers of the puck. |
