Babcock will find something to dislike about Muzzin. (It might be his beard). He let him play one game in the 2016 World Cup and sat his sorry butt out in favour of Bouwmeester.
There really is only one Dman that means anything to Babcock - Shea Weber. Because he scares the sh$t out of forwards. Just ask AA. - RickJ
LOL How has Weber played this year? I don't watch MTL |

He returned from IR in late November. Played 26 games, 6 goals, 10 helpers. Habs 17-9 since his return.

I read that article over the weekend. The Blackhawk Up article is okay and describes Kubalik as a Panik type of fiesty winger with 20/20 potential like Panik did in his one good year. The original article, though, that the Blackhawk Up article links to is too rosy eyed for my tastes and pumps his tires quite a bit. - AEL_Fox
The eye test looked pretty good from the highlights package. Looked like he has a booming shot and a good eye. But, that's what a highlights package is supposed to do. Kinda looks like a bigger Cat, but who knows.

Agree on the highlight reel, take the good with the potentially bad. If he can be a 20/20 winger who can provide secondary scoring, sandpaper, and two-way play -- all while doing it consistently -- then he could be a keeper. A consistent version of 2016-17 Panik would be nice (probably not the best comparable but he's the one that comes to mind for some reason). |

The healthier team will win as they generally do. Who ever skates the Cup in June will have earned it. - Beaver-Warrior
Earned it for sure. The most difficult championship to win in sports. Plus it has the added advantage of the 7-game series pretty much eliminating the missteps of a miscue (say, for example, a ref blowing a call that changes the completion of a game) that can have bigger signifigance in a shorter series. I know you can argue that the hawks lost game 7 in in 14 but I think each team earned their 3 victories leading up to the 7th, and at that time you revert to a one-game series and open yourself up to chance playing more of a factor.

[quote=-Doh-]For those looking to move AA, there are two centers with one year left on their contracts on TSN's Trade Bait List. Compare them to AA.
Brayden Schenn 27yrs old - 1 more year $5.13mil - 9G 27A - 6'1" 200lb
AA -30 yrs old - 1 more year $4,55mil - 8G 14A - 6'4", 198lb
Charlie Coyle 26 ys old - 1 more year $3.2mil - 9G 26A - 6'3" 220lb
AA has 2 more years after this.

MOVE 'EM OR LOSE 'EM: It looks like Panarin and Bobvrovsky could be gone at season's end...
Should #CBJ keep them for their playoff run?
Or deal them now rather than lose them for nothing?

You were probably merely listing centers without a lot of term. Looking at the liklihood whether their respective team wants to move them, I would say not.
Coyle is a big guy and is part of their culture. I would expect that the Blues consider Schenn part of their nucleus and the Blues feel they have the talent to win and make playoffs
.
It appears obvious to myself that Anisinov brings a draft choice as renumeration. |

I hope the hawks stay away from panarin now and in the off season dcat has 25/18 for 43 total while panarin is 19/34for 53 I believe the hawks can use the money getting someone like stone who brings another element we are missing as a team. |

My bad. Sorry. But that probably does not change the total picture too much. It is an added year of cost control for a player that is 30 years old. . |

https://www.the-rink.com/...pact-players-from-within/
Interesting article by the Rink. Agree with the general premise that the Hawks need to develop impact players from within. The article, though, focuses on bottom 6 role players stating that the team currently has just a bunch of prospects who are just "a guy" and that the 3 they highlight could break that mold:
Jack Ramsey, University of Minnesota
Fredrik Olofsson, Nebraska-Omaha
Evan Barratt, Penn State
Barratt obviously gets a lot of fanfare and for good reason so he appears to be the favorite of these 3 to make it to the NHL as an impact player. I personally don't have high hopes for Ramsey or Olofsson despite both having decent showings in prospect camps.
Who knows, though. I also wouldn't discount other bottom 6 prospects in Soderlund, Foo, Slavin, Hakkarainen, Nordgren, From, and of course Entwistle. They all could end up being nothing but maybe a few diamonds in the rough.
In Rockford, don't expect much out of any of the forwards outside of Sikura and possibly Highmore. |

Nice vote of confidence by Hogs interim head coach Derek King on Anton Forsberg:
“I try to stay away from the goalies cause they're a little different. But could he be an NHL goalie, an NHL backup goalie? Maybe on some other teams. But when you have a couple good goalies up there in Crawford and Ward, pretty hard to beat those guys out. I think he's done a great job with us ... He’s been a real pro.”

He did say Forsberg isn't good enough to beat out Ward. That's a little shade. If you can't beat out Ward, what team can you make? |

I have an idea. Since CBJ will be losing a top 6 forward and a goalie, how about Saad and Forsberg straight up for Panarin. |
