Scott may not know much about hockey, but he’s not a stupid man and he understands the business of sports. I have to wonder if he’s saying stuff to placate the corporate season ticket holders and major sponsors.

For all of Scott’s talk, and all of our fear, Fletcher hasn’t traded any picks or quality prospects whatsoever. I also think that Fletcher is an intelligent enough person to also learn from his mistakes. As I’ve said before, I’m going to sit back and see what they do between now and next fall’s camp, before making any judgments.

Exactly, Scott's agenda is not towards the fans, it's about making money.

As for Fletcher I don't care about his history, different teams and different situations. Fletcher could have a resume of the biggest steals in the history of sports, but end of the day that does nothing for the Flyers. Only thing that matters is what he does for them now.

He got rid of Weal for actual assets, had a mid-prospect swap and told Weise to go home. Not one single negative impact yet.

Yup, Weal's uncle's buddy knows all.

Glad you got the sarcasm in the original post, Bill! Also, appreciate the amount of work you put in to you posts. 👍

Can we stop this garbage about Giroux being underappreciated already. He isn't underappreciated, he's often built up by people, WRITERS, to be what he isn't. He's not elite, he's very good !!!!!

For those of you like me, who don't give a rats behind about the all star game, here is a new topic for today: All time favorite films, which as a former film major, is a subject near and dear to me.

Mine would be, in no particular order:

Casablanca
The perfect movie, IMO. The dialogue, the performances, the way it was shot. Everything in that film is just awesome. It also features some of the most memorable lines in film history.

The Godfather, parts 1 and 2
To me, both I and II are two halves of the same film. Love just about every scene in each. Too bad they didn't quit after those two however.

Rosemary's Baby
One of the most chilling films I've ever scene and one of the rare instances where the film is better than the book. The cast is absolutely sterling.

Animal House
One of my two favorite comedies. Every scene in that movie is funny, Belushi was at his finest in this film and he owns every scene that he's in.

12 Angry Men (the original version)
One of the best written films of all time. Considering that 99% of the film is basically 12 men sitting around a table, it's amazing how the movie captivates you and holds your undivided attention. One of the finest ensemble casts ever put together as well.

The Empire Strikes Back
IMO, by far, the best Star Wars film. It's the perfect escapist sci-fi treat and the fact that the ending isn't a happy one, just makes it better.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The best sci-fi/fantasy film adaptation of all time. The cinematography is awe inspiring, and the special effects are amazing. Serkis' performance as Gollum was perfectly done as was Elijah Wood as Frodo and of course, Ian McKellan's Gandalf

Reservoir Dogs
The dialogue is fantastic and it's just a great, down and dirty story. Tarantino's best film, IMO.

The Gold Rush
Charlie Chaplin at his finest. He was an amazing talent. If you don't love this film, you don't love movies

Young Frankenstein
My other favorite comedy. The performances, especially Wilder, Boyle, Feldman and the always fantastic, Madeleine Kahn make this film just a treat to watch. Shooting it in black and white was a great choice. It's my favorite Mel Brooks film.

These are all GREAT movies ... excellent list.

PS: Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles have always been my favorite Mel Brooks movies ... Madeleine Kahn was a comedic genius.

The Prestige is the most underrated movie of all time. Love explaining why it it so damn good. Just like Primer.

Kill Bill Vol 1 - best action movie of all time by my favorite director, and I am well aware this is his only movie i included.

Primer - I like reading ABOUT this more than the movie itself. I STRONGLY encourage anyone interested in PRACTICAL REALISTIC TIME TRAVEL to do the same.

No Country For Old Men - No soundtrack, but I can watch this in the background 24/7

Apocalypto - No one has seen this all Mayan language bad ass chase movie, directed by Gibson = their loss

Braveheart - did not want to like it going in, but damn.

Clerks - so so influential

Die Hard 3 (With A Vengengeance) i love this movie and best of the series.

I’m also a fan of Apocalypto except for the great historical inaccuracy it portrays. The final scene shows the Spanish landing which didn’t happen for over 500 years after the stone temples were abandoned by the Mayans. A very entertaining film nonetheless.

I think one thing people are missing in some of the movies is the effect the score/music has and I think BigEE would agree being a musician...Movies like the Trilogy ( Hobbit) Last of the Mohicans, King Arthur ( with Keira Knightley/Clive Owen, not the newer one) have fantastic music...I set up a Pandora channel using some of those scores as samplers.. have to throw Bear McReary in who did the newer Battlestar Galactica..

I actually got to see it on opening night at the Stanley in downtown Philly. It was a big deal. They actually had a live band playing the soundtrack when entering the lobby. I was just a kid and yes it left an impression in Cinamascope. That desert was mighty big.

I agree with that. Someone had “Last of the Mohicans” in their list which just missed being on mine. The final chase scene thru the mountains with the “Gael” playing in the background is as good as it gets.

It’s an amazing looking film. I didn’t see it when it first came out, but did get to see it on a big screen in the old Alhambra Theatre in San Francisco in the 90s. Really needs to be seen on the BIG screen to be appreciated.

Movie scores, different then soundtracks, are my thing..

Sicario is really amazing from a score perspective sadly Johannsson passed away so we won't hear more from him.

The work that James Newton Howard did for M Nights films are great with The Village being a favorite.

Did you see the live recording of the BSG version of All Along the Watchtower with Starbuck helping?

Christopher Young has put out some great horror work with the original Hellraiser score.

The true score and not the soundtrack to The Crow is great. Everyone of that era raved about the soundtrack and rightly so but few people knew that the movie score was just as good.

Lots of other great ones out there with Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore (LOTR), Enio Moricone and others.

The master for me though is John Williams. He has so many scores that millions of people know usually within a few notes.

Let me know if you want to try others as I can probsbly suggest a score in any flavor you want.

I’m not advocating it...just stating the obvious....I have no idea if Fletch loves him, hates him or is indifferent...but let’s not kid ourselves...this team needs change.
- landros 2

So does Edmonton, but that doesn't mean they should ever consider trading McDavid.

Not saying the 2 are equal, just that trading a star player (which he's been over the majority of his career) for the sake of "change" is generally a bad idea.

The Empire Strikes Back is the greatest soundtrack ever. It is a masterpiece in my opinion.
