That is true, presuming Karlsson re-signs with San Jose rather than going UFA. However, if Provorov bounces back next season to his 2017-18 level and not the way he's played this season, the Flyers don't need a "true No. 1" because they'd have a young one in-house. They would still need a 20-min vet type, though. - bmeltzer
I agree. The best way to get that player is to draft and develop one. I agree that the need is there but it has to be balanced with the cost. |

Ghost could be available, but even though he's having a down year, the cost to acquire him will be very steep. He's only 24 and he's signed to a very cap friendly long term deal. - BiggE
I still say you can't really afford to trade any of Provy, Ghost or Sanhiem right now. The return would have to be really enticing to part with one of the best pieces of our thin and developing defense. Maybe once we know what Myers and Morin are, but we aren't there yet.
I would certainly consider cashing out on Gudas but I don't see how you move any of the aforementioned three and don't create a huge hole on the back end. |

Yeah. That's not happening. I could see mtl putting a package around their 1st round pick, both of their 2nd round picks and another good piece (Lehkonen, Romanov or Brook). Maybe a little more. - deadpoulet
No thanks. They aren’t looking to move Ghost. Any deal would have to be just too good to pass up for him to be moved. Your offer is nice, but without a guaranteed quality NHL player coming back, they aren’t moving Ghost. |

I wouldn’t be looking to move any of them, but it all depends on the return. |

If they move on from Gudas, they are selling high....after last years playoffs, he wasn’t worth a bucket of spit. This year he really has played a more solid consistent game....he hasn’t done anything stupid and he has started to take the body again, with less reckless abandon this time.

Only way I possibly see them moving Ghost is packaging him with another big piece to acquire a legit top pairing, all situations D man. But how many of those are available? |

Gardiner in TO is a UFA....all offensive guy, struggles in own end...sound familiar. Correct in saying Provy is our own home grown #1....I think he’ll be fine. Bad plays, lack of confidence and poor decision making can snowball. I just think Provy is too talented not to turn it around. |

It would be of the blockbuster variety. Hopefully Ghost can finish strong, and put all the trade talk to rest. We all know how capable he is, we’ve seen it first hand. |

For those of you like me, who don't give a rats behind about the all star game, here is a new topic for today: All time favorite films, which as a former film major, is a subject near and dear to me.
Mine would be, in no particular order:
Casablanca
The perfect movie, IMO. The dialogue, the performances, the way it was shot. Everything in that film is just awesome. It also features some of the most memorable lines in film history.
The Godfather, parts 1 and 2
To me, both I and II are two halves of the same film. Love just about every scene in each. Too bad they didn't quit after those two however.
Rosemary's Baby
One of the most chilling films I've ever scene and one of the rare instances where the film is better than the book. The cast is absolutely sterling.
Animal House
One of my two favorite comedies. Every scene in that movie is funny, Belushi was at his finest in this film and he owns every scene that he's in.
12 Angry Men (the original version)
One of the best written films of all time. Considering that 99% of the film is basically 12 men sitting around a table, it's amazing how the movie captivates you and holds your undivided attention. One of the finest ensemble casts ever put together as well.
The Empire Strikes Back
IMO, by far, the best Star Wars film. It's the perfect escapist sci-fi treat and the fact that the ending isn't a happy one, just makes it better.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The best sci-fi/fantasy film adaptation of all time. The cinematography is awe inspiring, and the special effects are amazing. Serkis' performance as Gollum was perfectly done as was Elijah Wood as Frodo and of course, Ian McKellan's Gandalf
Reservoir Dogs
The dialogue is fantastic and it's just a great, down and dirty story. Tarantino's best film, IMO.
The Gold Rush
Charlie Chaplin at his finest. He was an amazing talent. If you don't love this film, you don't love movies
Young Frankenstein
My other favorite comedy. The performances, especially Wilder, Boyle, Feldman and the always fantastic, Madeleine Kahn make this film just a treat to watch. Shooting it in black and white was a great choice. It's my favorite Mel Brooks film.

I'm assuming the Giroux part stems from the twitter debate yesterday over whether Giroux is one of the most underappreciated athletes in Philly. it annoys me to no end when you get the "giroux is overrated", even one or two "giroux sucks" (that person loses all credibility to me) and Giroux hasn't done anything in the playoffs (still has averaged almost a point per game and has not had much help) |

This a town that regularly booed Mike Schmidt, perhaps the greatest 3rd baseman of all time. We'll really know what we had when he retires. |

Ghost might not be as safe as you think. He has not played very good this year. - landros 2
i think its short sighted to trade a guy because he had a bad season personally. if a player is traded because it makes the team player then ok i get it but to say he hasn't played well, well, I don't think you trade a guy for that. most of the team hasn't played all that well this year including provorov |

I’m not advocating it...just stating the obvious....I have no idea if Fletch loves him, hates him or is indifferent...but let’s not kid ourselves...this team needs change. |

Giroux is def not underappreciated by anyone who knows hockey. If you are some idiot on CSN Philly who only watches highlights, he would be underappreciated but for us real fans that understand the game and actually watch the games when we can, we know Giroux is the heart of this team and that he is always giving 110%. Even during his interviews, he holds back and considering what this team has gone through this season, that is a lot of frustration to hold back. You can see it in his expression but he always says the right things and never throws his teammates or coaches under the bus.
I am glad Giroux will be a Flyer for life! My only wish is for him to raise the cup at least once with the team HE has been loyal to for 11 years |

seriously she was so impressive. The guys mostly slowed down circling the net but her edge work is so outstanding. she just kept her feet moving at the same speed circling the net. only being a second and a half or so off from McDavid was quite impressive |
