I know what I think about players and these proposals are bad. |

The first time one fan proposes a trade that fans of the other team don’t find offensive will be the first time.
Almost everyone overvalues “their guys” it shouldn’t surprise anyone. |

there are some ridiculous trade suggestions there, but none more ridiculous than Saad for Hamilton. To get Hamilton would cost Chicago at least Debrincat, Murphy, and a prospect. You have to remember they moved Lindholm and Hanifin to get him. |

Unfortunately, Chiarelli got himself fired a few days early. Maybe we could have gotten Draisaitl and Talbot for Keith, Hayden, Kunitz, Forsberg and a 4th rounder. |

The Canes broke Darling. He is no good to us now.
And there is no "e" on the end of Seabrook. |

Bettman wouldn't have allowed that trade. |

I feel like TC is just trolling us with this to keep us busy with one another while he fixes his basement
However, I'll bite on this, what's the deal with Ondrej Palat? Says he's played in 33 games but I feel like I haven't heard anything about him for awhile now. Few years back teams, including the Hawks, were looking at making a major push to add him. Now it seems like he's a complete afterthought on that team. If someone could provide some more info that would be great |

He'll be bought out. He's been worse in the AHL than he was in the NHL. Which is... yikes. |

Then listen to the feedback from some impartial fans on the proposed deals. Admittedly, I don't watch Saad much, but straight up for Hamilton is insane (even considering the current stigma around Dougie). |

That's bad. Sucks. He really is a good guy and hoped he was do well.
Why buy him out though? Do the Canes plan on spending to the cap? |

Good god no - BINGO!
Please explain. And no, I'm not being a Richard here, just trying to understand the strong reaction.
I actually think this is a reasonable deal.
Hawks get Darling back (even if they have to bury him). Carolina is already burying his contract so whatever. Hawks take his bad contract and Canes get Seabs.
Carolina gets Seabrook (no e at the end this time). Getting towards the end of his career but can act as a mentor to a younger Carolina team.
Carolina gets a young top 6 forward in Saad
Hawks get Williams where they can either flip him to a contender at the deadline or just let his contract expire
TVR is a not incredibly talented but he can eat up minutes for the Hawks.
Buffalo's second? I just threw that in there.

Some folks would never trade a first round prospect whom remains just as much desired (even more perhaps) than the day he [Beaudin] was selected.
You can always find missing pieces for your roster once you have a competitive playoff capable team. No way trading a first rounder; the first round picks usually become the better players on their respective team.
Although we retain a bevy of first round and other NHL top young dmen, to trade them before their ultimate professional NHL value is determined would be an egregious irreversible choice. |

Why would the Hawks give up all that for Simmonds and his expiring contract? He's going to get too much money and too much term from somebody this summer. And if the articles I read about all the injuries he's played through are true, I would be even less inclined. Certainly a warrior, but if there are actuarial tables for durations of careers like his, I can't imagine they look very good past age 30. |

Probably has to do with the Seabrook's contract. Williams is actually having an okay-ish year for the Canes and is sporting the C while Staal is out. |
