for those who think Risto is really good
watch Hedman for a 5 or 6 game stretch
he does so many little things w/o effort that risto has yet to be consistent at doing

- homiedclown

Hedman makes $7,875,000
Risto makes $5,400,000
....im not saying you're wrong, but you get what you pay for.

Lol

I thought he was a bit over rated

He was not far behind 5

- homiedclown

He was a "lunch pail defenceman" which is a good thing to have as long as he doesnt break the bank.

Botterill is watching Erik Karlsson to see where it goes with the Sharks, there is interest.

Having each of those two guys on different pairings would be absolutely lethal. Play each pairing 25 minutes a night and two guys on the bottom pair who play primarily PK and enough 5v5 minutes to stay warm would be something to behold.

Once we move Risto we spend 5 years trying to look for a competent top 4 RHD. Tatar is going to score 25 goals this year and he was a throw in. Pacioretty and JVR have missed handfuls of games this year and will still score around 20+. We got Skinner for peanuts. Hoffman was acquired for next to nothing. We just traded away two guys that will score 25+ goals this year. How many RHD have/will be traded ? We can fill our needs in free agency (short term) and free agency (long term) up front without having to move Risto.

Does anyone dispute this ^^ ? Interested to hear other people’s takes. It’s been a long break between games.

Star talent on more than one line is what we need . Same with the forward group.

No dispute. I think its a good take. Moving Risto would create a need that would be very, very difficult to address.

That might be a bit high for Sabres to swallow. Will have to sign Danlin soon

Puck luck on those players over the league. Happens every year . "should have grabbed this player or that player" Trading for the better players will be costly . Good players are a made by their team . assists inflated are by having a finisher. Goal tending is the last resort of what your defense screws up on. (good talent in the league tests that every night) Get the right combo and you can win the Cup.

Still not giving Eichel any credit, Milbury and Jones are morons.

you think they are close enough to get it done and still allow the sabres to go get somebody to help the 2nd line and defense?
