I knew we’d get to Oreilly soon enough.

Where was our PP ranked last year? Wasn’t it last

- sbroads24

I was drinking pain killers with breakfast, moulsons in the afternoon with shots

crown and ginger ale in the evening

I averaged 22 drinks a day for the 10 days

I give myself a B+

- homiedclown

not sure how many are earning their check on the roster

eichel has picked up his game this season, so he does
skinner and skunk for sure
risto
dahlin, mccabe, pilut but they are on cheap deals

thompson and casey I guess, though I expected more

ullmark

did I miss anyone?
maybe erod

- homiedclown

You hit them all including Erod. Casey and Thompson were maybes as well. They counted Sheary but I disagree with that. Bogo, Pommer, Scandella, Okposo, Sobotka, the usual suspects aren’t cutting it.

Risto is 4th on the Sabres blue line in points per 60.

Dahlin is #1.

Ristolainen literally is a product of ice time

- sbroads24

i literally think this is not the right use for the word literally

I was going to put hutton on the list, but he is now a .500 goalie

No numb nuts because McCsbe didn’t do what Jones did 5 on 5 without the PP time

Here's what the point is:

Your assumption is that production per 60 will continue given increased ice time. Jake McCabe will be Seth Jones if given the opportunity. For that to be true, you're assuming that:

A.) McCabe is equal in talent to Jones
B.) Increased ice time will result in an equal increase in points

Your assumption completely removes talent from the equation, and it assumes that all players are equal if given the same opportunity, which is patently false. The Franson Fallacy

- jcragcrumple

Dude absolutely not and I never said that.

What I am saying is McCabe could absolutely produce like Ristolainen, because Ristolainen produces at the same rate (actually worse) than McCabe does when things are equal.

Seth Jones was better 5 on 5 at 19 than Risto is now.
But Jones wouldn’t score 50 5 on 5 points because no D man does.

Jones needed an elevated role to be a 50 point player

which makes the risto conversation important

if it's hard telling who is better all around between mccabe, pilut and risto

and dahlin is on the right long term

risto trade options should be explored

if botts wants dahlin on the left with risto on the right long term, that's a different story

we are loaded on the left with prospects

- homiedclown

Every option to make the team better should be explored but....

Unless it’s an overpay for Risto, you don’t move him

I have seen for some time now that Burakovsky may be available and would wonder if a trade could be made including Beaulieu. Trade Beaulieu and a 3rd for Burakovsky. Both former 1st round picks, both RFAs and both not getting the opportunity due to each team's depth at their position. The Caps have traded for a dman at the deadline for the past 6 years. Burakovsky is a 6'3" 210lb winger from Austria who could hopefully have a career like a former Austrian winger that played here given the opportunity.

He’s about to be 24.

He is what he is a 35 point guy with a top end of maybe 50.

I’m all for taking a chance but I have no high expectations.

They'll want more than a 3rd with a crazy condition on it and a D who can't crack our lineup.

I would have said a 2nd, but we don't have one this year. I would offer a 2nd next year.

People need to get over Bob Woods. The PP got hot for a while when he was here. It wasn't good the whole time and it hasn't followed him.
- Lunaion

At some point we had the #1 pp in the league.

2 or 3 years ago?

Whether it was Bob wood or Randy wood, the pp now is costing us games.

But it was also the reason we won a few games especially against LA and MTL.

People never remember those.

The PP Looks awful. Truth is it’s slightly below average

We've scored 1 goal less than average on PP and allowed 2 more than average. Sure, it could be better.
