a hole in the wall near the bridge in st cats, woman was dancing to neil young, free world in the mid 90's

I was at the stage, trying to give her a dollar

she dragged me on stage, gave me instructions, laying down

20 seconds later did a back flip, landed on my face and took the dollar from my mouth with her lower lips

perhaps the best dollar I ever spent

Any trade that brings back a really good player for Ristolainen
- sbroads24

Im still curious to know why we should trade a 1st rounder + other assets RISTO to acquire a player that the other team deemed tradeable for the assets we are giving them. If that said team would rather have our first rounderRISTO then why shouldn't we not keep it him ?

Really good players don’t go out of style

Risto isn’t that

- sbroads24

I don't want to debate the merits of ristolainen, but there will always be a segment of GMs who find him valuable. And while the cap rises, his price becomes even more attractive. I just don't buy that we'd be selling high now. They should absolutely take offers on him now, but I don't see a need to sell sell sell right now, or ever, because of a perceived incoming decline in value

I agree with the PP struggles
Hard to lay the blame on risto without sharing the blame

As a fan, I love risto's game.
The parts that aren't measured by advanced stats.

Tough to play against
Pest
Hard hitting
Shot blocking
Leadership
Physical conditioning
Outstanding effort- not always results

Why cant he be our 2 or 3 ?

- Boss34

No ones blaming him, but when he’s labeled a “PP specialist” wouldn’t his specialty help our PP?

Your commentary on the powerplay is exhausting and inconsistent

Labels are just that. I know a certain player that had a label of "leader" or something something

Right. Calling someone a “PP specialist” is a nice label

I'm just saying, I'm sure you'll happily argue that too many of his 30 points are powerplay points, but you'll also argue that those points aren't good enough

I'm not sure if he's a "pp specialist "
He plays almost 30 minutes a game
Ot as well.

Everyone should take some blame for the pp failures.
Including the coaches.

Risto was fine with the old coach. Davis Payne maybe?

They all count, but guys who get 26-27 minutes a night in ice time with top PP time with other star players are guys like Burns, Karlsson, Doughty, etc who put up 60-80 points.

Risto’s 40 points are not an impressive feat compared to others with the same opportunity

He doesn't score at a Norris pace. If that's the bar, then you've set yourself up for disappointment.

He's 17th in scoring for defensemen. Now I'll let you slice and dice the numbers and tell me why half of his points don't count

Thats cause hes not a #1 and isnt being paid as a #1 either. 5.4 for a SOLID 2-3 Dman who SHOULDNT be playing 26-27 minutes a night, more like 20-23. 40 points is GREAT PRODUCTION AT 5.4. Jesus H Christ....

The Athletic on Risto Bang-for-your-buck:
Rasmus Ristolainen, $5.4 million

This trio is tied for No. 37 among highest-paid defensemen, and Ristolainen is holding his own. He’s used way more defensively than the Blue Jackets’ Jones, yet he’s keeping up in the offensive end.

Bang for the buck: Yes.

Housley top-loading one line with our best 3 players for 6 weeks straight buried us. Hence our record since the streak. We are not making the playoffs. Only hope is that we lose enough games to get him fired in the offseason. Hire coach Q

Because of his ice time. He isn’t anywhere near the 17th best offensive defenseman.

He might not be top 2 on this team

People need to get over Bob Woods. The PP got hot for a while when he was here. It wasn't good the whole time and it hasn't followed him.

Ah yes, the "Franson Fallacy"

Given more ice time, Player B will produce as much as Player A

No it’s just basic common sense.

No one brought up a player who should produce more
