I guess I'm wondering why the NHL would want a French-Canadian (double knock against them) team in the playoffs.

It's a fact that US audiences do not want to watch Canadian teams.

It's also a fact that Canadian fans are much more likely to continue to watch NHL playoffs than their US counterparts.

Is it gate revenues? Is that why the NHL would concoct such a dastardly plan?

Which would then logically lead me to my next question:

Why the hell hasn't the league figured out a way to put the Leafs in the Stanley Cup finals for 51 years?

I'll hang up and listen.

There has not been a team this bad that has ever made the playoffs. Ever.

The 1982-83 St. Louis Blues made the playoffs after earning 65 points in an 80-game season.

And for you kids out there watching, there were no loser points or OT or shootout back then.

If you made a coherent point, perhaps it would be harder for me to miss it.

That may very well be. I, for one, did not think they would being even close to such a record, especially with the league's worst PP. But try and think about what you're saying - does it seem reasonable? I get it - you hate the Habs, which is your right and I have no issue with that, whatever your reason is. But what you're accusing the league of, even if some or all of it was true, would not have the effect you are correlating the actions to.

I hate the Habs, too.

I just wanted that on the record.

Let me recap:

1. You still haven't given the reason why what happened in last night's game, was a Habs favor from the league.

2. Do you have any idea what the Habs record is, as far as challenges on goals goes?

3. You are saying the league schedules more games for the Habs against teams that have played the night before, than for any other team? I suppose then, that they PLAY less back to backs than any other team as well?

4. You really believe that the league is able to make this team good enough to sit in third place in the Atlantic at the break, based on scheduling and rules?

How dare you. Logic and facts have no place here

Yeah now that I think of it, I think that guys name was Mark.

Superior does still have the guy (I think his name is Stevie) who has some sort of mental handicap that works the scoreboard from that booth up in the sky though. Guy has been there since I was a freshman in HS in like 2000

Get rid of offsides altogether....Frank it! If the league wants more goals, you'll get them this way! Who gives a poop if the guy without the puck crosses the blue line before the puck carrier! When I used to play NHL 94 on my Super Nintendo, I always turned the offside option off!

Someone is obsessed with the oilers. Offside is offside. Im sure your team has benfited once as well this year. Consider yourself lucky the nhl allows the coyotes to keep playing in arizona.

James,
Thanks for stirring up the pot!
The Coyotes had a disallowed goal earlier this year when the puck had the same amount of "white" beside the puck being over the line.
The intent of the rule should not be to "get it correct" down to the most miniscule of margins. It should be to eliminate the "obviously missed" offside calls!
If the call went the other way and against the opposition, I'm sure that we would all be hearing a different tune from Montreal and its fans.
