There isn't a professional sport being played where replay isn't used. Dumb to say it should be taken out of game. NEVER happen, so............modifying it to ensure the right calls are made w/out slowing the flow down is what needs to be done - rrentz
Who cares what other sports do? That's not an argument. All of them should cancel it there isn't a sport or a league with effective video replay. It's very stupid. |

you might have actually been able to make a valid point but you're so over-the-top with your whole "this is the worst thing ever because it affected MY team" whining that any validity within your post is lost.
granted like you i'm disgusted that Claude Julien would put winning a hockey game over James Tanner's feelings but there's a better way to express yourself. |

I’m still confused as to how this dude has a blog but 🤷♂️
It’ll be ok soon enough.. this dingbat won’t have a blog and the Coyotes will be relocated

We *all* hate it when a reviewed play doesn't go "our way". And when they do (go our way), you shake your head, say, "We were lucky this time." and move on. Every team has been a victim, and has benefited from the instant replays. What REALLY needs to happen is a clear, concise, set of rules set for all replay situations, then they need to be adhered to 100% of the time. |

The call was current under the rules and no one is disputing that. We're saying it's a stupid rule. - James_Tanner
Should be talking about missing the call not using instant replay to right a wrong. It was offside |

Also, you want to be rid of these chincy grey area challenges? You lose your timeout, AND you take a bench minor penalty. Then the challenges will be made when it's 100% undeniable. |

Yet you to let video replay die, making the prodcut the NHL displays worse.
That might one of the dumbest statements I've ever seen. Tanner, keep it my mans. One day you'll be the GM of the Oilers with that attitutde. |

BOO (frank)ING HOO! ... here's a tissue.
I guess we should abolish all rules when a call goes against your team.
Every team gets goals cancelled during a year ... it has happened to us many times already this year.
Suck it up sweetie ... you want a cookie?

I bet if they were to take video review out completely. And a blatant call was missed and cost your team the game.
You would write a blog about how the league is dumb and needs video review.

Games are played by humans in real time and officiated by humans in real time. It should be left that way. - Scoob
Why not use existing technology to help the officiating?
Look, sports fans are by nature whiny bee-yotches. They piss and moan when something doesn't go their way, regardless of the actual facts.
There isn't a single Habs fan complaining this morning about the video replay rule.
So the league has a choice: occasionally have one team's fans upset about getting a goal called back due to the correct call, or have the other team's fans upset about having a goal allowed that shouldn't, due to a missed call.
It's a no-brainer. |

Can you think of a single example outside the sports world where the use of technology would improve accuracy, but people would argue against it?

People care too much about reality and facts. It's more important to be "morally" correct.

So what is the cutoff then? 10 seconds, 20 seconds? Or is it off sides period, if the defending team controls the puck by rule during a delayed off sides the play continues, thats ok? that can go on for a considerable period of time, so the offensive team does not even control the puck during a known off sides, so again what is the cut off. As an Isles fan I can guarantee you there are a ton of old Flyer fan that would give anything for the replay rule in 1980, but hey that didn't have a major effect right? So loss of possession maybe, 20 seconds, maybe, but as the rule is presently written that is how it goes, this just in teams that only score one goal in a game, lose most of the time, and I sure don't need analytics to tell me that. |

I think the latest Saints/Rams game is the perfect example of why this is just fine.
Habs won the game. Galchenyuk didn't score and Domi is still so god damn lucky.
