The best thing the Flyers can do for Hart is improve the team around him. Every goalie is scouted.
- MJL

Absolutely. I couldn't agree more.

I dont know if I consider goaltending an issue anymore. Figuring out who will split time with Hart is more of a minor deal.
- youarewrong

while I hope Carter continues, can you imagine going into next year without a 1B plan for our 1A Carter Hart?

I have no problem overpaying for the right guy. Tyler Myers , as some have suggested, isn't the right guy in my opinion.
- MJL

Yeah me neither, if not in-house it probably will be an overpay in a trade. It will hurt but they can't sell the farm, they have to protect their blue chips. If to steep, I am probably more interested in the 3C and fixing the Chemistry on the O side. You have to think Provy and Ghost are better. The minutes SanHeim is getting will pay off and one of Morin or Myers can play bottom pair minutes.

If they're going to go the trade route I think they'd be much better off going for a lower tier veteran that they can elevate to a higher pairing and take some minutes. I don't know how many top pairing high minute defenseman will be available and if they are, the cost will be ludicrous.

not sure about all the gudas love, short memories i guess, anyone remember last years playoffs? worse guy on the ice hands down, so many direct turnovers that led to goals it was embarrassing , and everyone was calling for his head, trade gudas and meyers steps right in and he will never be missed.

Big picture. Gudas struggled last year. It happens. He has rebounded. Put Myers in the same position and how would he fare? Not easy to play defense in the situation the Flyers were in. How did Provorov look in that series?

Hush...we need to trade while his value is at it’s highest.

Last year, haha come on. Gudas has played very well this year, teams would certainly want him for the playoffs. I'd rather hold onto him.
- ClaudeFather

I don't disagree he's played well. But that's his most recent playoff experience.

I've always imagined him sitting on and surrounded by a stack of old hockeybuzz printouts. Just like I imagine MOAT specifically taking the effort to print one out to wipe his butt with.
Just sayin, those are my impressions.

I print out a HB transcript every day. I keep the printouts next to my Reader's Digest and TV Guide. But sometimes they pile so high that I can't find the tapes that I need to return to Blockbuster.

Yep. I attribute that to an overcompensation on his part due to his suspensions.

No, but I do have a 12-pack of Crystal Pepsi.

They need to bring that back.

Yeah, he's generally played (very) well as a Flyer.

He's got his warts, but overall he's earned every penny.

That was the context of my reply in response to continued posts by a poster. You aren't aware of that. Which is why I replied as I did to that poster. This proves that you are unaware of the context in which I replied.

To follow up, there is nothing wrong with wanting to maximize the lineup and improve the team in all areas. I disagree with repeatedly focusing on the fact that the Flyers didn't call up Aube-Kubel again. I don't believe that is a factor in how the Flyers season has gone. I also believe that the Flyers are developing young players in the way that they think is best. I'm okay with that.

You’re absolutely correct but this seems to be the line up you’re all looking for. I’ve ask, do you guys wanna sign Bob? The overwhelming response was “Then what do we do with Hart?”. Many of you want to trade Simmonds for draft picks and prospects. So right away, the return brings nothing next season. Many of you want to see Morin, Myers, Frost and Aube-Kubel make the team.

So what’s left exactly? If you move Simmonds, we’re a weaker team and I’m unsure of what star you can trade for without giving up a major piece of the pie. Whether it’s in the line up or the pipeline.

One Ronald Jeffrey Hextall rumored to be on the list to replace Peter Chiarelli:

I would absolutely love to see Hextall become the new GM. He would be going into a possible worse situation than what he came into for Philly. Terrible cap management and a weak prospect pool, but has one of the best players in the league to work with.

Wouldn't that just be a kick in the teeth if he brought them a cup before the Flyers.
