Another clueless statement why do you think he has so many 80s Oilers on his management team or Team Canada? He is a billionaire fanboy

Itll likely be run by committee to finish the year. Then there will be some house cleaning youd have to assume.

I’m betting that Gretzky will be the face of it as it seems like he was working with Chia on every move that had been made as of late....he will be named the temp GM

Have you seen him in interviews the past 5 years? He needs to attend rehab before handling a team.

I forget what I said word for word but I’ll throw out a few examples

The way he handled Dubnyk then the success that he had after being gone from the Oilers

Petry....you remember him right? That happened on his watch

Replacing Kruger with Eakins....such a success

Over hyping Jultz to the point where the kid was screwed from the start....hypes him up as the next Paul Coffey before he even played his first game for us....no pressure

That’s to name a few not to mention that bad contracts he gave out and lack of good drafting outside the first round.....also you would think as a GM he would know the CBA but that didn’t stop him from offering Vladimir Tkachev a contract when he wasn’t allowed to be signed.....a little embarrassing

Like I said it’s not on the level of Chia but it’s not like he was a major success either with the Oilers....I didn’t mind him as a coach....some entertaining moments

Dubnyk was rough. Knew he was a good goalie, just was struggling that season. They go Hendricks out of it. Not great.

They should have picked Petry of Schultz.

Yakupov would still be in the NHL if they didn't fire Kruger. Eakins was the new hot thing and he turned to be ass.

They mishandled Schultz and that (frank)ing sucked.

Nikitan was a bad contract. Fayne, could think of more but I don't feel like putting in the effort.

The only good thing to happen under the tenure of Chiarelli is the drafting. lol (frank)ing tkachev. guy (frank)ing sucks. but yeah that was weird.

Except if he was never fired from Boston, the Oilers would probably be better off right now...

Depends on who took over but I will say none would have been as disastrous as Chia was for our team....this franchise hasn’t gotten it right for years....can almost say decades now....a lot of thought needs to be put in moving forward with the direction of this team....the hiring of the next GM will be the most important decision that this team will make

No I thought it would be Hunter. I just want enough of the old boys club. I thought it was the end when they hired Chiarelli and McLellan.

I don’t think they are going to rush to get a new GM....if they are smart (ha) they will go through the process and talk to multiple people before coming to a final decision....I would be surprised if they hired a new full time GM at this point in the season
