We all know hes gonna have final say in personnel for the remainder of the season. As long as chia doent have any fingerprints remaining. - wreckage
I know you can’t just replace a whole management team in mid season so if Hitch gets more of a say that might be ok...I don’t know but I just hope it’s the first step in what should be an off-season purge

I'm fine with Hitch for the rest of the season. Would somehow be nice to get Yzerman. - Oilers4Life14

Nicholson would be the one to fire him since he hired him - RatedR80
He's at fault the most.
Chiarelli is like a dog. The dog is going to keep going on the sofa until the owner (Nicholson) kills him or whatever you do to misbehaving dogs.
The analogy fell apart at the end but you understood what I was going for. |

If I had to pick one it'd be MacTavish. Yeah he wasn't good but he didn't make any deals (other than maybe the Nikitian one) that screwed this team as bad as Chiarelli did.
And he did well with Perron. Bought him cheap and sold him high. (frank) he could have had Barzal/Boeser/Chabot and Carlo for Perron and Klinkhammer, but Chiarelli was like "Reinhart is good" - Oilers4Life14
A while back I posted a list of MacTs errors....no they aren’t on Chias level but they were still bad for the team overall....replacing one idiot with another is not a fix....that’s more of the same old poop

Lowe, MacT, Howson, Chia, Nicholson and anyone who has had their finger prints on this 10+ year failure should be shown the door

I didn't think MacT was a bad coach. Then again I was like 11 when he was fired and I don't remember much from my childhood |

I forget what I said word for word but I’ll throw out a few examples
The way he handled Dubnyk then the success that he had after being gone from the Oilers
Petry....you remember him right? That happened on his watch
Replacing Kruger with Eakins....such a success
Over hyping Jultz to the point where the kid was screwed from the start....hypes him up as the next Paul Coffey before he even played his first game for us....no pressure
That’s to name a few not to mention that bad contracts he gave out and lack of good drafting outside the first round.....also you would think as a GM he would know the CBA but that didn’t stop him from offering Vladimir Tkachev a contract when he wasn’t allowed to be signed.....a little embarrassing
Like I said it’s not on the level of Chia but it’s not like he was a major success either with the Oilers....I didn’t mind him as a coach....some entertaining moments

Yes ok to be fair I can scratch that....either way he didn’t make the team better which had really been the problem....Lowe makes a mess and Tambo attempts to clean it up and fails and goes backwards....MacT then attempts to clean up the mess and fails then all Chia did was fail....that trend is why we are where we are
