Hahahah yeah it was gross. But hearing the cries of agony ring through the dorm halls the next morning was hysterical.

The blogger stated they want to get younger and faster which seems odd me if they want to move a 24yr old RD blue liner. If this is the case, Manson would make more sense.
- Rinosaur

I’ll take Montour over Manson any day. Just like Vegas was happy to take Theodore for nothing.

Supposedly Brass willing to waive it anywhere.
- Rinosaur

All the Brassard rumour dirt that is flying around is completely overstated. For 3 mill they keep him for this year and roll with it. When this team is healthy it is as good as any team in the league and the experience it has maybe puts it a cut above. Parity is alive and well and any team can beat any team but that experience playing big time games is the biggest asset a coach could ask for. This team is mostly made up of proven winners.

What's Brassard value if the Pens were just stocking futures to trade for a different 3C.... 2nd round pick? Late 1st?

Probably a 2nd that becomes a 1st if certain criteria is met.

Virtually every insider/beat writer is saying Brass is available, but it's absolutely possible they keep him if the return sucks.

A lot of GM's wouldn't trade him because it would be admitting a mistake. Rutherford however has never been shy of trying to fix his mistakes.

I sincerely doubt you have been to over 100 music festivals...
- joecool2931

Ok I’ll say close to a hundred. Not all very big but there was a commune/venue called the church of universal love and music about 45 minutes north of somerset that had something every weekend. Biggest would be around 2000 people a couple times a summer. They got raided and shutdown by swat awhile back. But my point was I hangout with all kinds of people. Ryan Wilson seems like a genuine wienerhead.

Rutherford has kinda made comments about it being the media stirring up the Brass stuff... I find he usually doesn't get on with BS. Never know though. Personally, I'm thinking he'll be with Pens after TDL but I won't care that much if I'm wrong about it haha.

I get the idea that Rutherford hasn’t decided that Brassard absolutely needs to be moved yet, but he seems to be trending in that direction based on his comments. Until he decides that Brass needs to go, I don’t think we’ll see a trade just to make a trade. It’ll be the right trade (at least according to The Old Man). So I think he’s available, just not at the point where JR has sent out a comunique to the league saying “Brassard is going to the highest bidder by the deadline so submit your best offers”.

I'm just going by his name being brought up by every "insider". Combine that with the critical comments JR made during the west coast trip. He did have a nice game against Zona, but was pretty terrible in LV....of course everybody sucked in LV.

I think JR was probably trying to goose him one last time before he makes a decision. Basically got one good game out of him.

For me..... I think the Pens have a pretty short window remaining and I can't stand the thought of wasting a year hoping a key player figures it out. I just don't see the Pens competing with the likes of Tampa or Washington with dismal 3rd and 4th lines.

I’m 99% sure it was Pierre LeBrun who quoted Rutherford as saying that Brassard will be dealt

I think he isn't getting the offers for Brassard that he was hoping for. I would assume his hope would be someone would pay a kings ransom due to his playoff history and previous play away from Pittsburgh. He is also a center who can hold down a 2nd line role. I think JR will hold out and get what he wants for Brassard otherwise it will be like previous trade deadlines where he tells us there was almost a few deals made, but talks just fell through

Yohe’s been swearing to God that Brass won’t make it past the deadline but Rutherford has put some of the rumor down, though not all the way.

Past**

Hey I was just reading on Sportsnet something that I had completely forgotten.. the Oilers had to ship out a 2nd round pick just to get Chiarelli in the first place. Woof. They noted his bad deals but they also noted the cap hit on Klefbom which is insanely good and honestly, the Cam Talbot trade was a win. It’s too bad they didn’t trade him before signing Koskinen because I think signing him lowers your ability to get value in return for Talbot.
The articles on Sportsnet have been really good these past couple seasons

I definitely think at some point Rutherford will decide to trade Brassard for whatever he can get. It’s trending in that direction. I’m just not sure if we’re there yet.

Sprong with a goal scorers goal in Anaheim tonight. His 8th since joining the team. Would be a 30 goal pace 45 point pace playing for this injured Ducks squad. Btw if any of you are in some deep fantasy leagues, Perry might be a good pickup to throw on IR for a bit

The Pens are not trending up as they were. I'm not saying they're ready to press the panic button, but with a week off it seems like a good time.

On a side note, the Ducks just lost Kase for five to six months. He may not be the most important player, but he's one of their top goal-scorers. I have to think they just got a lot closer to becoming sellers.
