- best bet is to keep Brassy, eat the $3mm, hope he turns up the heat in the playoffs
- (frank) no to whoever suggested bringing back jordan staal. let him play with his brothas - DeflatedPucks
I agree to the first part. The 2nd part, if it could work financially, I'd be all for. |

I like the idea of Hayes but I didnt realize he was already making 5+.....If he had more term I think it would be sweet. Get Brass out of here he's garbage. |

The Pens aren't going to get him anyway. When it comes to guys like Stone, Duchene and Hayes, other teams will be able to offer more.

The 3C search is going be the needle in the haystack. TIOPS a little while back mentioned a Chris Tierney. IMO it's going to be a name like that; one that is slightly off the radar, but they hope will come in and shine.
The Ducks blogger was talking more about how Montour is likely a piece to get moved. I wish there was a way for the Pens to grab him. |

If Stone goes to free agency, I'd do everything possible to get him short of trading Sid, Geno or Letang.
For this season....yeah....those players aren't happening. |

IMO the only chance we'd ever get to see Stone in a Pens sweater is this season, but it's just not gonna happen.
If Ottawa was smart they'd be attempting to deal Duchene and/or Stone to a bottom team allowing them to pre-negotiate an extension so they still have a shot at Hughes.
EDIT: Colorado has to be licking their chomps right now with OTT sitting at dead last. |

With Staal out and still technically in the hunt they are in need of a center. Now, I'm not saying I agree with this trade, but if I had to bring some reasoning to it; that would be it. |

Yeah but the way that Brassard is playing negates the value for Carolina imo |

Oh, I agree. I don't think they'd do it. I also don't think moving Brassard will be easy. A GM will have to believe that Brass needs a "change of scenery." |

Building next week's HBSL and it's not easy. It's a weird week with some players playing only one game and some playing four.
LW: Dubois, Connor, Skinner, Marchand
C: Sid, Point, Guentzel, Scheifele
RW: Wheeler, Kessel, Pastrnak, Kucherov
D: Dahlin, Werenski, Letang, Krug, Trouba, Hagg
G: Rittich and Vas |

That's basically it. Beyond Carolina, a GM has to believe it's a "fit" problem in Pittsburgh before anybody will trade for him. Unless of course we're giving him away. If that's the case, we should just keep him.

The problem is even if the Penguins want to move him they would have to navigate his full no-movement clause (his contract).
This cant be true can it? I have never read it contained any sort of movement clause. |

Honestly I have a lot of new age wussy nhl loving friends that I joke with all the time. But I’m pretty sure I would actually hate Ryan Wilson in real life. - Grinder47
Hey ya never know. I have good friends that don’t know much about the game. I just avoid going into detail because they don’t see it. They don’t know different types of breakouts, forechecks, traps. The absolute worst part is when they get defensive about players they like.
Also side note, after just moving here in May I’ve been offered a Varsity coaching position for next season |

Probably. He’s a liberal hippy that listens to Phish in his safe space. You don’t seem like the type to enjoy kickin it with libs. |

So if a liberal is a “lib,” would someone who used to be a conservative be an ex-con? |

I could definitely see the Ducks moving Montour out for more offensive help but Murray is pretty shrewd. He trades from a place of strength. If he’s moving a quality, young defender then he’s going to want quality in return. They already have Getzy, Henrique, and Kesler so I don’t see them being interested in Brass one bit. Rust is the exact type of forward they love to get. I could see them taking on hornqvist potentially but the price would have to be right for them to take on an older player I would expect the Ducks to quietly be in on Karlsson and Panarin this offseason. If they somehow land Karlsson they would just move out another defender to a team like the Leafs |

I did a double take on this too. RW was making a joke about his excessive contract virtually equals a no movement clause. Which is true. Gonna need to pay another team some form of compensation for them to take it. |
