Chiarelli and Bergevin... it's a close one for the worst GM in the league. At least Chiarelli won a cup. |

Too much cash given way too soon. I mean he's already signed through this year, why not hold off on an extension?
Why not ride Koskinen the rest of the season, and get a better picture of what you actually have in him before extending him?
Doing it now makes no sense. - Wildschwein
If Talbot is traded soon, it’ll make abit more sense
As everyone here knows, I’ve been anti chia forever. And I hated the signing outta the k. So much money for a totally unproven guy. Especially in relation to some comparables.
And even him playing well doesn’t make it any less of pure dumb luck.
But I gotta guess, they know talbs is gone and didn’t wanna risk a bidding war later on.
Is it another premature gamble ? Potentially yes, but I’ll maintain I don’t hate it.
It’s far down the pantheon of chia blunders I think.
Side note- Manning should be considered a far bigger blunder than currently been discussed |

Chias worse hands down imo
He was handed a great core to work with and no cap issues .

It would fit the existing narrative of doing everything he possibly can to get himself fired |

Seriously there is absolutely no reason for this contract to be handed out today, why on earth would you not wait until the season is over and evaluate everything. Koskinen could be cheaper or could crap out down the stretch... too many variables.
Another clumsy move by PC |

WOW...4.5m contract extension for 27 games, 31 in the NHL. I sure hope he has been lights out for that money because 25 games doesn't tell a whole lot. - Glak18

How is this even a question? Chiarelli has, arguably, the best center depth in the league which includes the most talented player in the world and he can't put together a winning team. Bergevin has done some pretty dumb stuff, but the Habs are currently in a playoff spot. |

That is true although I think it's pretty close. Can't think of a single trade that either of them has made that was smart. |

League average numbers. Certainly better considering the rubbers he’s faced with that defence. Last night shoulda been 11-4. Not 6.
But no, not lights out. At least since his opening stretch. Just pretty good |

I was reading the post game comments from Hitchcock, saying that it's not on the gm, it's on the players and coaches. If it was on anybody, it would be the gm.He assembled this squad. Therefore as any manager you are responsible for your team that you put together. - herecomesGUMP
Hitch is just a nice guy |

Maroon, Talbot and Kassian were wins. (Unfortunately he then overpaid lads)
But those small wins are totally eviscerated in relation to so many massive blunders
As far as berg, I only really know the bigger ones. Which also look bad |

Welcome to the last two years for Oilers fans... some of us longer. If a real answer to this question existed I would give it to you. - freelancer
So sad, but so true.
I have a question of my own for Oil fans.
I ask this with 100% hockey talk in mind...... No Trolling.
What/Why/How did this club make the playoffs (And play well) a couple years ago?
In your estimation, whats made that team SOOO much better than the current squad.
Was it Coach? Players? Aliens? A crazy fukkin Flash in the Pan? Trump?
What the hell is it!?
