if EP is legit he'll up his game in a PO series and take it to another level, the Nucks need to find a D-man piece that can eat some minutes , the leafs rely on Hainsey as atop 4 if we could upgrade Pouliot or Stetcher it would go far to the team being a lot more steady

i hate that wiener, but my point is you play the games and have a open idea as to the progression of the team , we are better then thought , so now we have to do things that will help build now and in the future , there is nothing wrong in making moves that help the team

Sorry I have to work in between my hockey debates lol. I think through 50 games we know what the team is, yes they are better than we thought, Pettersson and Markstrom changed things. However, they're still only ~ a .500 hockey club because they're not exactly very deep at this point.

Yesterday I posted through 50 games last year they were 20-24-6 for 46 points, this year they are better at 23-21-6 for 52 points, they are a mere three wins better than last year even though it feels like they are so much better.

The organization is not in a position to be trading ANY draft picks to reach, they're not, small moves like the Leivo trade, ok, those are good.

draft picks are unknown comodities, that said they are the lifeblood of a team to a point , but we have so many pieces that can be traded and used to change the room so to speak, Goldy, Gradlund ,Bearschi, Schaller, Motte , JV, almost anyone not named EP or Boeser. Even Bo should be an option if the right offer came up.

before the freakout , if columbus offered Werenski for BO ala johannson for Meyers you have to look at that and make a hard choice

playoff experience and the right pick when we pick is a better option, this team is believing in EP and we have to take the steps to build around that asap

I still think that the team finishes 10 th from the bottom and I have no interest in being a buyer , but I am definitely interested in trades to improve as long as it is for a young player that will be here for years.

That said I think it is ludicrous to hear fans say we need to tank when a GM has 18 months left on his less than impressive tenure one point out of a playoff spot to tank to take a high draft pick they know very little about.

A more realistic finish with the tank with the is 5,6,7 th . So who do you like at that ranking spot and what part of their game most impresses you about them that you want the team to do a full about face?

What are you expecting for a return for middling guys like Goldy, Grandlund, Baertschi, Schaller, Motte, etc.? That equates to shuffling the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. You're not going to get over the hump by doing that and magically turn this team into a contenders, stop fooling yourself.

If they traded Sutter and Tanev for a player, that might get you something, but it in-turn makes the defense worse. Gudbranson is poop, lets be honest, he's not bringing you a great return. Edler doesn't want to go. So I don't see any moves of significance helping Petey, Horvat and Boeser.

Patience for the rest of this year is the way to go IMO. Do the mid Feb Benning tank, trade Sutter for a 2nd rounder, bring up Gaudette, let Demko get the majority of the games and see where the chips fall.
