Marky is starting to look like he could steal a series and if JB can flip Goldy and extras for upgrades we can be a dangerous team to play , no rentals please but hockey trades and depth upgrades can work |

If Benning stays at the bottom this year he will more than likely be out of a job. Thinking this team will tank is crazy talk this year. Do you think he wants on his resume bottom 5 every year when he looks for his next job? - VANTEL
I'm not so sure about that, I think Aquilini is onboard with Benning as he can see growth in the organization through the youth contributing, which is directly attributed to Jim Benning and/or Judd Brackett.
As mentioned, Benning himself said at the beginning of the year he didn't see this as a playoff team, he too didn't see the greatness of Elias Pettersson. Petey changed things, Aquilini sees this. |

I'd rather look at it as benefits of a poor season. Tank is just code for favorable draft position. You can't dispute the value of a high draft pick or a stocked prospect pool. Teams waste those picks all the time but it still does not reduce it's value (even if you use it as trade bait).
We know the injury bug will hit this team again. Goaltending can't continue at the same pace. We have players who are naturally streaky. Things can go south quickly and if it does I won't be upset or disappointed one bit.
Let me put it this way, I think a high draft pick will benefit this franchise far more than one round of playoff hockey in 2019. - bloatedmosquito

Managers tank, not players. Benning's tank's in the past three seasons resulted in sitting players and bringing up youth, this resulted in Juolevi, Pettersson and Quinn. Perhaps it's just me but I'd like to see another great draft position because we could use another one of those kids. |

playoff experience and the right pick when we pick is a better option, this team is believing in EP and we have to take the steps to build around that asap |

We are not in a position to go out and acquire the likes of a Dougie Hamilton. Calgary missed the playoffs last year with him and they had Gaudreau, Monahan, Giordano, Tkachuk, Backlund, Ferland, Brodie, Bennett, etc....
The Canucks have Petey, Horvat, Boeser and Elder. It's not "go-time" yet. |

Just take this season as a win ....there is nothing that can happen the rest of the way that should be that disappointing now

OK - VANTEL
If you look at the standings the Canucks have 52 points, the Blues have 47, that's a mere five points separating us from being seventh last. Another losing skid puts us right at the bottom even if the teams just below us only play .500 hockey. |

No need to go shopping then in free agency . Bring back the same D see if we can sign Nilsson again as our back up and we are back on track for another high pick next year too

the flames suck and Marky is a better goalie then they have
if EP is legit he'll up his game in a PO series and take it to another level, the Nucks need to find a D-man piece that can eat some minutes , the leafs rely on Hainsey as atop 4 if we could upgrade Pouliot or Stetcher it would go far to the team being a lot more steady |

No you're wrong, patience is the best thing right now, keep building, not reaching for the playoffs. |

When Benning was trying to build a competitive team they finished at the bottom. When he tries to tank they are in a playoff spot at the all star break. |
