I was listening to Cam Robinson on SN650 today . This guy is one of best guys in this area of prospects and draft. He says the clear cut guy is Hughes then a drop off to Kakko then a third drop off from players 3-10 where there are still complimentary players that will help your team.

This is what I have been saying and getting accused of calling it a weak draft when I have not. I will gladly accept this player but I am not tanking to get him.

- VANTEL

Actually, what I've been saying is that there is a matthews and a laine at the top of the draft followed by a drop off to horvat level players that ends around 10, then a drop off to a bunch of decent but not star players to around 38ov where the drop off is deep.

You've stated several times that the are no matthews or eichel level players to track for. Your post disagrees with your narrative over the past weeks. Hughes and Kakko are at that level. Ask any GM or scout.

I would delete this if I where you because it contradicts your narrative.

No comment. Let’s talk about Goldobins feelings

According to the experts, that’s the start of the millennial generation! 🥳

I’m assuming you’re ‘81?

bible thumping aside, hes a damn good player. I would worry more so about the fact that a pretty damn good player has been traded twice in such a short time.
- Codes1087

He talked to the media about this rumor this week and dismissed there was a problem . I didn't see the interview but I heard it was released.

I could see Calgary who has a bunch of piss tanks on the team not wanting a guy who sits in the corner and reads his bible but there is no official word out of Carolina and their flakey ownership have said it is him specifically they want to move .They said a Dman because they want a top 6 forward. I have heard other Dmen on that team also mentioned .

I've seen several different ranges of years, nobody seems to agree. Shouldn't the definition of millenial be if your parents were baby boomers?
- NorthNuck

Generation X had boomers as parents, it ended in 80.

Generation Y used to go from 81 to 89, but now the experts have realized how whiny the Y'rs are and have rolled them into the millennials. Anyone who was 19 or older when the clock struck midnight isn't a millennial.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I know it’s chia, but on paper why on earth would they want pouliot?! To trade Manning, who they just aquired? Puujarvi would also have no place in this deal. I like the idea of getting a pick for caprelief though your numbers are off and thier savings is more like 1 mil which is not much. Lucic as a cap dump we might actually get a high pick or propect.
- neem55

Pouliot is also a left D, is 3 years younger, probably has a higher ceiling on offense, and saves them $1MM. That $1MM of space combined with dumping Spooner for Gagner (who's already in the minors) gives them $3MM in breathing room.

Puljujarvi is a write-off presently. He's generating less offense than Goldobin, and is an another icon of the failures there. Goldobin's a little further along in his evolution. He might not play a sound 200' game but he's more likely to put up points.

That is because you have trouble understanding . He didn't say there was a Matthews or a Laine . He said that those two were above the rest of the pack. He did not say they were two stars in the making.

Just because you are the best apple of a mediocre bunch does not make you a delicious apple. I know someone will twist this to say I said it is a bad draft and I am not . I will let this draft play out and I doubt Kakko or Hughes score 35 goals next year like Matthews and Laine did in their first year.

He may be a good player but he is a cancer in the locker room. Pass

that was what i was eluding to. "really good top 2 defensemen" don't get traded as much as he does.

Player gets rep as douche. Player denies rep. You believe? It would be nice to see a player or two talk about him as a great teammate.

I haven't heard the story/quotes. I just find it really odd that when he was paired with Giordano, they were one of the best defensive pairs in the league, and still dealt. I am sure there was more to it than a musuem/moxie incident (not sure if he discredited those reports/stories), but I would take caution in acquiring a guy like him if he is as good as what he has been, but is about to be on his 4th team before he turns 26

I don't know the facts but I think in Calgary he had a difference of opinion than the rest of the team. When I call them piss tanks I am serious. There was the talk about their reputation about their drinking and partying. The coach threw his stick into the stands and benched players. Bible guys don't usually go bar hopping and he probably got asked Are you too good for us? Or he got ridiculed. I really don't see Canucks as a bunch of piss tanks.

Gagner and spooner get paid the same amount. If anything, gagner gets paid more. Goldobin for puujarvi would be a landslide of a homerun. Dont get me wrong, i would love it but youre out of your mind if you think they’re in the same class

Gio is a beast though, he made Brodie look like an upcoming star at one point, then Brodie got taken off of that pairing and regressed into a whipping boy for their fans.

Outside of Virtanen and maybe Goldobin/Hutton, they do seem like a team full of husbands, nerds and choir boys

I heard some stories about the Kings/Hawks back when the Canucks played against them in the playoffs, those teams were full of MDZ's
