My opinion, points wise they are a wash at the same age but McDavid has been the better all around player at the same age.

except the first year for sid the nhl is totally diffrent now when it comes to production.
last year was 2.97 and now it is 3.06. most of Sids career was in the 2.70s

for example in Sids 3rd year the league average was 2.78 while Connors 3rd was 2.97.
Sid was injured but his ppg was 1.35 while Connors was 1.31 and take into account that the league average for sids season was much lower and his ice time was lower at 20:51 while Connor had 21:33.

Yeah and I think the only difference maker for the Oilers would have been Guentzel who's a legitimate 1st line scoring wing. Dumoulin and Maatta are both complimentary blue liners that are as good as their partner. The Oilers have those dudes already. Rust, Sheary, and Simon are good players, but like the blue liners, they're complimentary pieces. If the Oilers were to draft Dumoulin, Maatta, Rust, Sheary, and Simon this draft, they'd probably be better moving forward, but not in the realm of serious Cup contention still.

Nah. Guentzel isn’t any good. He’s an entitled millennial. He’s not a real hockey player. Give your balls a tug you tit (frank)er.

"While Sid and McDavid are probably considered a wash (personalliy I think McDavid is better)" While I do agree Mcdavid now is better than Sid now are you saying that you ALSO think Mcdavid is better than sid was at the same age?

Oh I dunno. I was just referring to McDavid now vs post Bylsma Sid. I’d have to do some research but I think McDavid/Sid as rookies/young players are probably pretty close

I think the major difference between the two is speed.

That is crazy. I think I had mine out when I was 20 cause they were coming in sideways as well. It sucked but you definitely are having a rough go with it.
- Feds91Stammer

Its always worse the older you are. My dad finally got his out at like 48 or something absurd and he was bed ridden for a while. I got mine out as soon as I was eligible at 16 and it wasn't no thing. I was back to eating normally in like three days.

just did it. they are pretty close but with Sid edging mcdavid every year so far especially comparable to the goals per game average of the league. Except this year where sid had 1.33 and Connor is atm at 1.50. the average in the league was pretty close compared this year 3.06 (connors 4th year) and sids 4th year 2.91.

I'm not sold how much of a difference the 40 extra seconds of ice time is gonna make in terms of production when you're already being deployed over 20 minutes a night.

It could be worse. At least I wasn’t in any pain prior to the surgery and the nerve wasn’t damaged so my jaw isn’t numb. But there appears to be blood somewhere in my sinuses. Every now and then I’ll hack up a little ball of it out of nowhere but my nasal passage is clear, so that’s somewhat concerning. I also have SIBO which I’ve had half my life and the antibiotics have my gut feeling great, so that’s good news!

Did you take into account 5v5 vs PP? Primary points? Quality of Teammates? etc. etc.

not yet but the their respective first years are weird to compare cuz there was ALOT of power plays in sids first year. I would actually love a comparison between the two conducted by someone a little more knowledgeable than me. annoying finding all this poop.

edit: sid actually had 61 power play points in his second season compared to connors 27 in his second.

But comparing purely 5v5 statistics we know connor is the better player than sid was. Connor with his speed is a game changer in todays game and he crushes everyone with that speed. Sid had speed too but played with more grit and physicallity to his game.

The swelling didn’t even finish accumulating for me until day 3! Haha. The swelling is still very noticeable and both sides of my jaw are a weird green color from the bruising. The absolute worst part was during the Pens game on Friday. My pain killers had completely worn off during the 2nd period and it’s still a 20 minute drive home after the game. I think if I had to go much longer I would’ve thrown up from the pain

Aged 20-21 seasons

5v5 p1 60

Crosby: 2.4

McDavid: 2.3

So offense wise roughly a wash imo.

Going into serious pain during a game is the absolute worst. Sophomore year of college some buddies and I took a New Years roadtrip that took us from Philly, to Montreal, to Boston, and back to Philly before heading back to Notre Dame, and while we were in Philly the first time we all hit up a Sixers game during the peak Process years. I don't know if it was all the drinking we had been doing during the weekend, but at some point during the Sixers game I started to get a headache. Me yelling/cheering and the general crowd noise gradually made it worse until it became skull splitting by halftime. Had to sit through an entire other half of really poopty basketball and about a one hour commute back to my buddy's place on the Main Line before I had access to advil. I ended up taking eight pills and locking myself in a dark room for two hours before it got any better.
