John Tucker might be the best trade of all time.

Traded January of 1990 to Washington for future considerations.

Then traded back to Buffalo for himself in July of 1990.

Only to be traded to the Islanders in January of 1991 for (yep you guessed it) future considerations.

No one ever gets traded for fulfilling past considerations

RFA's of interest going into next year are:

Zemgus Girgensons 1,600,000

Johan Larsson 1,475,000

Evan Rodrigues 650,000

Jake McCabe 1,600,000

Linus Ullmark 750,000

-----------------------------

Lets start with McCabe. How much does he get paid, and for how long? I'll say 3.5 for 3 years.

Sucks cause that would be the last place I would like to see Blow-U go. Good for him if he gets moved there though.

On Bogo, nice to see he is getting interest as the last 2-3 years his injury issues were pissing everyone off. He has had a solid season, and I see why teams are calling. Do we really not see him in our future plans? That would worsen our LHD/RHD problem.

TSN: Pierre LeBrun has said that Buffalo Sabres GM Jason Botterill has recently met with Jeff Skinner‘s agent Don Meehan recently to set up an agenda for future talks. Discussions could get underway early February:

“…. to get contract talks going for real and my sense is right now, and again this could change once you get into actual numbers, but my sense right now is Jeff Skinner wants to stay. There is genuine interest on both sides to try and find a way to get a deal done. But certainly, there’s this. They’re not in a playoff spot, time is of the essence when it comes to the trade deadline.”

Both side HAVE to know what the initial numbers are from both sides, so it shouldn't be a problem knowing if they are close enough to sign the guy.

But Botts better NOT (frank) this up. either get him sign before the deadline or trade him.

Sometimes these 'reporters' are just filling air when there's no actual news.

Fair and team friendly. McCabe should file for arb and point out he's better than Scandella. Doesn't strike me as the type to take that kind of stance.

Yea on the radio they were talking about offer sheets today. If there is a year for it to happen why not this year. Rantenen, Point, Matthews, Marner, Laine. That’s just the beginning of the list of available RFA’s. I wonder if Botts is considering it. We do have the draft capital.
- Pegullaville

Of all those listed above, the first I'd go after as an RFA would be Marner. I'm likely the only one who ranks him that highly, but he is so good and criminally underrated.
