70% nylander
30% olofsson

you might be correct on this but right now, my call up order is 1) smith 2) Olofsson 3) Nylander 4) Guhle.

I don't either, but you have two guys in Smith and Olofsson at near a point per game, while the sabres can't score for poop. I'm not gonna get into the weeds on who should be moved to make room, but, damn, just figure it out. And then Nylander who clearly isn't progressing points wise down there. Trade him, play him. Just make some decisions

Nikita Zadorov is looking pretty good in Colorado. Buffalo could use that size now.

Exhibit A on why you don’t trade prospects and picks to speed up a rebuild. Zadorov, Compher, Greer and one of Matthews/Laine/Dubois/puliarvi/Tkchuck/Keller > ROR.

However ROR did bring us Dahlin, Thompson, 1st rounder, 2nd rounder and whatever mid round pick we get for Sobotka (hopefully). Thinking of Eichel/Matthews combo down the middle or what Laine could do on Eichel’s wing stings though. We would have been brutal that year.

Buffalo could use a second line center, too.

I thought about that all the time.....until we won the lottery for Dahlin

Only silver lining from all of that forsure. We had a lot of luck involved though. I also credit Botts for showing patience and not making any panic moves and taking the year to asses what we had and letting the ship sink.

Yea on the radio they were talking about offer sheets today. If there is a year for it to happen why not this year. Rantenen, Point, Matthews, Marner, Laine. That’s just the beginning of the list of available RFA’s. I wonder if Botts is considering it. We do have the draft capital.
- Pegullaville

Of all those listed above, the first I'd go after as an RFA would be Marner. I'm likely the only one who ranks him that highly, but he is so good and criminally underrated.

Nylander.

And that's only because of the pedigree.

I don't trust Olofsson to not bolt back to Sweden if things don't go his way. (I'm not basing this on anything other than he's a former 7th rounder, with long odds, and he already knows he can be a superstar back home). I truly hope he has a hunger to be successful in North America.

Interesting intangible to nylander- Sweden possibly

The fact that he wasn’t included in the “Last Man In” vote for the All-Star shocked me as he was top 5 in scoring at the time. Just like how Eichel gets jaded as he’s a playmaker and not the goal scorer, Marner is in the same boat. When Matthews missed time, Marner drove the ship. Marner has led the team in points every year he has played. To me he’s been the Leafs MVP. The play making version of Patty Kane.

He’s sick, hopefully he stands his ground like (frank)lander and demands a 10x8 contract.

This.
He is again taking his time in a very deliberate evaluation of:
- what he has now on the roster,
A) where are the holes after giving a period of assimilation for players new to this roster
B) who can deliver value for their contract period, and who needs to be sold off, if possible
- what the development trajectory is of younger players...
A) who IS going to make it
B) project timing of when they'll make it

Yet, many on this board want him to pull the trigger faster for some stupid quick fix to run to "8th place".
Nope, stay the course, build for the future!
Sell off those who would deliver value, buy carefully to fill areas of long-term need.
Be a contender for a decade, not 1 quick playoff race and then take steps backward.

If anyone is going to throw a temper tantrum resulting in lost playing time, I'm putting it on the guy with the last name of "Nylander."

It sounds like the Steelers aren't getting the offers they expected to get for Antonio Brown.

Screw it...

trade down in the draft from 9 to say 15 or so

Get an extra 2nd and a 4th

Send the 2nd and 4th for Brown

Draft OT in the 1st
Draft DT in the 2nd
Draft TE in the 3rd

Really like that should be a suprise? The dude make huge money, and walked out on his team. What did they think they were going to get? As much as he would be a welcome player ( talentwise) just don’t see it happening in buffalo.

Go sign Golden Tate, draft a wr in the 2nd round.

interesting. Thanks Homie! Bogo's been okay this year but I wouldn't be hurt if we could dump that contract.
