Certainly is a tough one. He seems to have to a good attitude about it all (3rd year in the minors), knows he has to work on some things and reaches out to Michael and William regularly for advice.

I'm pulling for him. Many have written him off. At this point, what a bonus if he pans out.

Logan Couture had 25 games in the NHL , 9 points in year 3
http://www.hockeydb.com/i...ts/pdisplay.php?pid=89766

turned out fine

I think if Nylander gets a 15 game look in the spring, we will know what we have, esp in 2019-20 if he picks it up a tad

he was better then many scrubs on this team in pre season, so roster spots were handed out, not earned

What in Davy Jones’ locker did ye just bark at me, ye scurvy bilgerat? I’ll have ye know I be the meanest cutthroat on the seven seas, and I’ve led numerous raids on fishing villages, and raped over 300 wenches. I be trained in hit-and-run pillaging and be the deadliest with a pistol of all the captains on the high seas. Ye be nothing to me but another source o’ swag. I’ll have yer guts for garters and keel haul ye like never been done before, hear me true. You think ye can hide behind your newfangled computing device? Think twice on that, scallywag. As we parley I be contacting my secret network o’ pirates across the sea and yer port is being tracked right now so ye better prepare for the typhoon, weevil. The kind o’ monsoon that’ll wipe ye off the map. You’re sharkbait, fool. I can sail anywhere, in any waters, and can kill ye in o’er seven hundred ways, and that be just with me hook and fist. Not only do I be top o’ the line with a cutlass, but I have an entire pirate fleet at my beck and call and I’ll damned sure use it all to wipe yer arse off o’ the world, ye dog. If only ye had had the foresight to know what devilish wrath your jibe was about to incur, ye might have belayed the comment. But ye couldn’t, ye didn’t, and now ye’ll pay the ultimate toll, you buffoon. I’ll poop fury all over ye and ye’ll drown in the depths o’ it. You’re fish food now.

Problem is the type of player Nylander is.

He’s a skilled top 6 guy.

He should be dominating in the A at this point.

It’s not like he’s developing a two-way game

They need to either give him a shot in the NHL, or trade him away. He's mediocre in the AHL. If they're done with him, swap him for puljarjarvi straight up, or do something

And that bolded part is so goddamn true it hurts

I’m iffy on him. His numbers are better, And admittedly I’ve barely watched him this year, but everyone I read who covers Rochester is totally down on him for the most part

Hell, no. You suffer through Okposo. You don't trade that pick away.

4 more years at 6 million.

Our prime cup window coming up soon

I agree with you though, tough to trade that pick away.

If you had to put money on it today, who’s the better NHL’er, Oloffson or Nylander ?

Watching that game last night.

"Larsson has been going thru some tough stretches "
"Larsson has been overplayed "

Lots of excuses.

He was better than, or at least as good as at least 6 forwards on the team. They decided they were going to keep Thompson and not Nylander months earlier. I will always believe that. Combine that with Smith being sent down the day after he scored a goal, and the entire narrative of "earning your shot" is completely debunked. It's all about placating egos.

Probably nylander.
8th overall pick will get multiple opportunities

7th round pick might get one shot at glory

And most likely placed with non-scorers for 30 games, so he never has a true opportunity to succeed. I have faith in Notreadysson, though. Another goal tonight. He's gonna score 20+ in the A this year while being near a point per game

I have to imagine nylander's trade value is higher on the open market.

Goaloffson is gonna get a look after the trade deadline

Hope he comes through. Don't watch many amerks games but I can think of a bunch of times where v.o. would/could have buried a goal just being on he right side on the pp for the sabres this year.

Nylander.

And that's only because of the pedigree.

I don't trust Olofsson to not bolt back to Sweden if things don't go his way. (I'm not basing this on anything other than he's a former 7th rounder, with long odds, and he already knows he can be a superstar back home). I truly hope he has a hunger to be successful in North America.

I don't either, but you have two guys in Smith and Olofsson at near a point per game, while the sabres can't score for poop. I'm not gonna get into the weeds on who should be moved to make room, but, damn, just figure it out. And then Nylander who clearly isn't progressing points wise down there. Trade him, play him. Just make some decisions

Nikita Zadorov is looking pretty good in Colorado. Buffalo could use that size now.
