I was hoping once McDavid was on the oilers things would be turning around for that franchise, but no one deserves the Chiarelli treatment. Not even the Habs, and I'm a Boston fan. |

The flames are not nearly as weak on the left as they are the right side and really, for a rental giving up your first is never worth it. As for depth players, I would still pass on them, maybe prospects or a 2nd as they wont sign him anyway...Just let it pass as a bad rumor for Brad Trev! |

Despite the lax defense in front of Carter Hart, the kid really seems to have some skill, and has even given a small spark to a generally lost team.
If Philly gets a goalie, it better be a cheap mentor who is fine with playing one out of 4 starts.
Not many goalies at 20 can take a heavy load and a fair amount of lumps on a bad team without it effecting their future game. Teams are often reluctant to do that. It may be early with Hart to know if that’s the case with him as well, but he seems to have a great attitude and decent head on his shoulders.
So ride him out this season. Let him play. If you get another goalie, don’t make it someone to whom he has to take the backseat. Don’t even grab one to split starts. If you have 2 goalies, you have none (which, coincidentally, has been Philly’s downfall for some time).
Just start the kid. They may finally have somebody special. Let’s find out. |
