Very difficult to do considering he doesn't have a consistent defensive partner. But good try Rexy! - TheUltimateJet
He’s had two this year. And the same one for as long as I can remember |

Enstrom was such an offensive Juggernaut he scored an amazing 6 points!!! He added another 0 in the playoffs.
Wowwee, with those numbers its baffling why no other team offered him a contract! |

Well, I was obviously being sarcastic with the juggernaut comment.
I’m noting here that for all Myers natural talent, he doesn’t do anything to improve the people he plays with. His lack of hockey IQ and inability to make decisions under pressure are the main reasons for this.
Also, it’s widely known that Enstrom was offered multiple NHL contracts, but chose to go play in his home town, on his brothers team, where his family lives instead. If you’re going to try and talk sh*t about a player, at least try and be right |

I do know this in Enstrom's last 103 games played for the Jets he had an astonishing 20 points, for an amazing 0.19 points per game. He also had 2 goals in his last two seasons as a Jet for another astonishing 0.019 goals per game.
He assisted on 5 goals in his last season with the Jets. The same Jets that ranked #2 in league wide offense.
He sure is missed! |

Defence was the name of his game. He had a legitimate argument for best shutdown D in the world last season. Ignoring that, his transition game was still strong, and that shows by the Jets controlling offence A LOT more with him out there

No worries CharlieDog, between you and Jetsnation, I am feeling the warm vibes on this cold day! - TheUltimateJet
Yes. Your comments are bang on correct and CharlieDog's comments sums it all up. If God played on our team and cost Dano or Petan or Perreault or Laine a spot then he/she would find himself on Rexy's regular hit list. It isn't any more complicated than that. |

God doesn’t have a shot like Laine.

Someone mentioned Tanev's 5 vs 5 goals vs Laine. Since I can't upload images...type in the two names and compare. Laine plain sucks 5 vs 5. He truly might be one of the worst 5 vs 5 players in the league while Tanev is elite. Quite frankly Tanev's numbers are better than Perreault, Lowry, Copp, and any forward on the Jets not named Scheifele or Ehlers

OK !
Should Chevy make a move on Oleksiak ? ... I (and others) have posted LHD as a need and this guy's a mountain of a man with a mean streak - AND - playoff experience ... 2 yrs left at $2.1M cap
If yes - I'll open the bidding: Perrault + Petan + a 3rd
Too much ? Too little ? |

Does he have a mean streak? I honestly don't know the answer. If so, that's good. If he is just a gentle giant, ummmm.....not so interesting.
That's one of the knocks with Ekblad. He is huge but he let little Domi smack him in the face. Ekblad should have pummelled Domi for doing that. That's one of the reasons Ekblad's stock hit the basement for me. Not interested if you are not going beat the living crap out some little irritating twit. (I would be OK if Domi was on my team tho)
My favourite big mean SOB is Buff. If Olexiuk is a mean SOB, then let's talk. But if he is a gentle giant like Ekblad, pass....... |

Oleksiak would help, not a home run though. I think you are giving too much, Petan + a 2nd.
One rumor suggested Oleksiak and Brassard to Wpg. Is Brassard an upgrade on Little? I am not convinced of it. |

Like this -
Morrissey - Trouba
Oleksiak - Byfuglien
Kulikov - Myers
... or, of course -

No surprise. Tanev is "Elite" at what he does. |

Laine is 4th in the league for 5v5 goals since his debut.
There’s also a problem with that model where a lot of it is purely scoresheet based. Tanev is riding a huge lucky streak that will soon normalize. It’s flawed, and while it’s good for comparing two players like Wheeler and Scheifele (consistent over time), someone in a limited role with no real history like Tanev can be all over the place. For example, by that model’s standard, Tanev is easily the best player the Jets have. |

No thanks. I don't think we need him now Enstrom is gone. BTW....His sister is the real star in the family. |

Neither player would move the needle much. Brassard is a terrifying trade prospect given his recent performance.
Oleksiak is a huge upgrade on Chiarot, but still not top 4 |

I was reading this on one of the other HockeyBuzz areas. Nice to see Myers starting to be recognized alongside other elite defensemen like Karlsson and Stralman.
"The top echelon of pending UFA blueliners (Erik Karlsson, Tyler Myers, Anton Stralman) will not be shopped before February 25 because their clubs are in or fighting for playoff spots." |

I called into 1290 this morning and asked this exact thing.
I think your cost is way too much!! He should be had for a third rounder and a guy like Dano or Harkins

Well, yes it was a big collision but I think Buff got whacked in the head with his stick un-intentionally. But I meant, you know how Buff plays with the mean edge,....he sometimes straddle very close to the edge.....
I am not interested in Olexiuk at all, especially just because he is big, just making a point that between Buff, Ekblad and Olexiuk, it is my opinion that Buff is one big mean sob that can play the game of hockey and produce. Not too many in the leaque like Big Buff.
Now that I am gushing, sort of on Buff, where is Byfuglein Ate Me to affirm my good words on the big guy?? |

Ross. I gotta ask this because you and several others always throw Dano's name out there in a trade. If there is not one NHL team that wants Dano for free then why on earth would they want him as part of a trade. Add to that is that Dano isn't even performing well in the AHL ( 11 points in 20 games) even though he is on the top line. So if no one wants him for free then he's not worth even a 10th round pick or as a throw in. That's just my simple reasoning on the matter.
Petan might still be worth a 4th or 5th although I have to say , Petan has had his chances on the top two lines and the PP in the past and never produced anything of significance. His stock has dropped a ton.
