Ward helped his own trade value tonight. No idea if that happens, given the situation that others on here already spelled out, but a night like tonight couldn't hurt. |

Be nice but Ward has been around for years. Everyone knows what he is as a goalie. |

Entertaining game and honest effort. Hope to see more of that the rest of the season. - HawkintheD
That’s all I ever ask of the team. If they do this game in, game out, you have to be happy regardless of the score....although it sure is better when they win.

New Online Poll:
- Love the Drake
- Hate the Drake
- Think the Drake is just passing through
- Just like calling him 'Caligula'
- Trade him but only for a 3rd round pick minimum
- All of the above - totem
How about,
Why does Edm trade him for a valuable commodity in Manning (NOT)! Why does Edm have scoring difficulties after drafting Draisalti, Nugent Hopkins, Eberle/Strome, and McDavid
Will Hitchcock and or Chiarelli resolve this issue? Kefborn, Nurse........is there good transition defense to offense? |

Jump for joy after shootout win. Like in the Toyota commercials, but wear a Blackhawks jersey.
Jump for joy = Bowman when he drafts someone he snd scouts like
Feel like going into hiding if he [Bowman] is fired
Why does anyone think Bowman gets fired? What is Rocky's and McDonough expectations?

Crazier things have happened. Remember when the Bruins signed Turco when everyone in their system was hurt? |

Someone needs to start a petition to have the Hawks keep those unis as their 3rds. - Elbows15
Should just wear the blacks only until the regular sweaters get fixed and lose the collars

Yean my point was more about the upping his value thing you mentioned. There is no upping his value. A pack of bazooka bubble gum and new skate laces would be fine by me for Ward. |

GM around the league know Ward ,warts and all .He is a respected veteran goalie. who in the right situation could be a valuable emergency replacement come playoff time . I think he could fetch a middle round pick (3 or 4 ) from the right team , if he is willing to wave his NMC . |

Ward won't be traded. He has a child who is sick and he was adamant about the NMC. Now could things change, maybe it would have to be a team he feels has the best realistic chance to win the cup. Other thing to realize is if you trade ward , who backs up Delia? Would they bring up Forsberg or any trade prior to ward going would mean Chicago has a goalie coming back .
Crawford is likely done for the season , Chicago knows that they are not going to make the playoffs and everything now is more about evaluating players, draft position and picks .
In the end Crawford is done , Chicago won't risk his health for a season that is lost. |

15 was nothing compared to those other two teams IMHO, Keith was basically two men in that playoffs because Kimo and Runsbad couldn't play. - kwolf68
Agree but that's why I just said fwd depth. It was probably Crow's best playoffs other than the NSH series.
Their defense was ok until Rozy's ankle cracked off against MN and then Oduya was the victim of a dirty hit/play in the SCF from Kucherov.
In the SCF it was next man up on the 3rd pair with a totally meh rotation of Kimmo, Rundblad, Cumiskey and a banged up TVR.
They were essentially playing with 3 and a half dmen because Oduya's elbow was (frank)ed up from the Kucherov hit, and I think the 3rd pair was averaging about 7-8 mins a night.
They had a 3rd line though of Sharp, Teuvo and Vermy, and their 4th was a pain to play against with Krugs, Dezy and I want to say Versteeg? |

The Score is reporting the Oilers gave fired their gm. Last night someone speculated the then-announced upcoming press conference was to announce that he was going to get an extension. I jokingly said maybe I’d was to his neck. Guess I was right: he got hung — or axed — depending upon your perspective.
We always hear about on this board how bad the hawks dmen are at taking the body. Well, it looks like manning just delivered a devastating hit |

I just read the article and in it, they mention the awful trade between Chicago and Edmonton relieving Stan of his mistake
I guess it's safe to say Chicago and Edmonton won't be making any trades in the near future

It’s too bad. For all those lamenting Stan as the worst GM ever, they often seem to forget about Chiarelli and some of the trades he made.
Would have been nice to relieve him of an asset or unload another bad contract.
Love the devastating hit by Manning comment above. |

Stan will always be the ugly bridesmaid at Chiarelli's wedding, Dorion is the maid of honor. |

Plus....this firing will eventually make the Oilers better in the long run. It was always reassuring knowing that people in charge of your opponents’ teams were less effective than your leadership team. Now they have the potential to begin making some smarter moves. |

Thanks. Figured is was appropriate given the trade was probably the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Last two games, Hawks have ditched their genteel approach to hockey. When they mix it up a little, they get energized. Seem to be having some fun. |

Shaw on the 4th.
I thought 23 played with 91 and 88. |

That could be. It was Q so it's a safe bet there was some mixing and matching. |

If it's about evaluating talent why not get Forsberg back for a look see ,should have been playing at the 1st of the year .. IMO |
