What's the incentive for Mathews to sign early unless the Leafs cough up McDavid money or close to it? He could/might get an offer sheet in the summer at huge money from a somebody like the Rangers or Kings or Vegas. Cuba's just spewing BS to the Toronto media. - RickJ
Well if he really wants to stay in Toronto and help deliver a cup signing an extension would give them certainty of where their cap would be at so they could add pieces to help them win this year and the years to follow |

IIRC - there was a lot of controversy around the movie because it was initially rated X and they had to do a second edit to finally get an R rating. I’ve never actually seen the movie - but Caligula was historically famous for letting his freaky flag fly. - Chief4Feathers
Wasn't Scarface originally rated X, also? I think the chainsaw scene was originally shown. |

With adverbs like that....... Kubrick is good, even though King hates what he did with The Shining. I didn't know there was a book for C.O. - I Am The Breadman
Anthony Burgess was the author. Not sure how true to the book the movie was but Kubrick knocked it out of the park regardless of wherever the book went. |

Might be my fave iteration of the Winter Classic uni. They should make it their 3rd jersey. - HawkintheD
Agree 110%. By far one of my favorite jerseys of my collection. They look great. Been saying since I seen them that they should be their 3rd jerseys going forward. Miss the black jerseys

Agreed - the black 3rd jersey was an instant classic. They should have never discontinued it. |

I’ve been a longtime lurker who hasn’t posted much before. After watching/reading everything happening this year, I feel like the FO & most fans are in the opinion of a slight rebuild with trading away a few core older players....and try to win in the next 5 years with Kane/Toews vs blowing up team completely including either Toews/Kane. Whether it’s loyalty or tickets, I feel the FO is content with having Kane/Toews finish their contracts in Chicago. I do think the next 1-2 years you’ll see turnover with Keith/Seabrook/Crawford/AA and possibly Saad being moved or left unprotected in Seattle draft. If we’re looking at trade destinations for a few current Hawks (getting comfortable in my “Armchair”). I’m still thinking Coach Q heads to Philly. If so, hope Fletcher calls SB to work on a Keith & Saad for C Frost, LHD Morin, RHD Myers, C/LW Laughton. Frost is a stud, Morin/Myers add size/speed & grit (they’ll stop running over our goalie or take liberties on the ice with smaller skilled players). Laughton is good on faceoffs/PK and can still score. Toronto is another option Keith & Gustafson for D Rasmus, LW Johnsson, G Scott. I would try and bribe Ottawa owner with picks/cash to rid cap hits of Seabrook/Crawford which they could expose in Seattle draft or place on LTIR. Clearing this cap would get them enough room to swing a 8 year $9AAV for Panarin & 5 year $8AAV G Bobrovsky. A high draft pick Hughes/Kakko will either be inserted with Toews/ADB or dropped to 3rd line with Frost/Laughton in my scenario. The icing on the cake would be AA for RW Puljujarvi before Chia gets fired. I’ll even take AA to Carolina for D Jake Bean....to help compensate for the Teuvo trade earlier. With that, I’ll apologize for the long winded post and grab another beer during intermission. |

Kane finishing his check, pay back. Great shift with 20-16-64. I like the chemistry those guys have.
Even though we're down 1, it was a good period against a good team. We weren't dominated. - I Am The Breadman
It was a terrible period. 5x5 stats:
SAT - 17-25
SOG - 9-12
SC - 4-16
HDSC - 0-7
What shots the Hawks did get were relatively harmless. |

Welcome aboard, DD! Post more. I agree with your ideas and synopses. I like some of the additional players you mention, but I also get the other side of staying away too......
Hope you stick around. |

They started slow, but it didn't look horrible to me. I guess it does when you bring numbers in. I saw a lot of good things that numbers don't always show. |

Morin big bad mother pair him with boqvist saad. For morin and frost would be awesome like your thinking keith only gets moved if he approves it and hawks get what they want in the trade. Also i very leary about trading both keith or seabrook. Need one here to help show the players how to be a pro. And mentor them. Stll would like to see hawks try and get Anderson from Columbus. AA HAYDEN AND 4TH i know i have mentioned it before but that is type of player hawks need. Don't be shy keep posted. |
