I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the core is pushing to keep Simmonds. He’s been a good soldier for the Flyers for a very long time, not to mention G and Jake were the ones who pushed to bring JvR back here.
What we’ve seen this season are certain players having a down year. The Flyers didn’t have a good first period but overall, the Flyers have been playing to their capabilities in the last three games.
It’s amazing how good goaltending can inspire a team. - SuperSchennBros
How long has the team been inspired, since Hart started to play or just the last 5 when they have been playing better? |

I'm not saying I don't like the trade but I think Laughton has been playing really well. Not sure I want to make him a 4th liner. - MJL
I think everyone is playing exactly where they need to be playing in this current line up. Seeing a JvR, Weal, Simmonds third line twice this season was probably about the most ridiculous thing I’ve witnessed this year. |

We’ve used 7 goaltenders this year. I would argue certain players have been used incorrectly. There is no excuse to sign a seven million dollar player and place him on the third line and second unit PP time.
My question is, how much faith do you have in the six goalies we used before Hart? Once you come up with that answer, ask yourself how the players must feel nightly.
How much passion would you have? |

Laughton has been playing great and so has Lindblom, but there are only so many spots.

Well you wouldn't want Johnsson on the 4th. Do the Flyers really stick with this top 9 the rest of the year, assuming they re-sign Simmonds? I mean if the team does re-sign Simmonds that basically throws the possibility out the window for a Stone, Duchene or Panarin if they are looking to do that. They have the cap space, but that would be suicide to do both unless they move out a high salary forward.
I just think you can still utilize Laughton for 13-14 mins a game the same as 16 mins even on the 4th.

I didn't ask about all the goalies used throughout the year, you are indirectly or directly saying Hart is the ONLY reason the team has been playing better hockey the last 5 games...but he has been on the team for a month and McKenna and Neurvirth have been used as well during his time.
Are you saying the team was inspired when Hart was backup when Neuvirth and McKenna played or just not those games? Were they still inspired during Hart's 5 straight losses? I mean they can't be inspired and then not at the same time.
Has Hart been great, yes. Has he really helped the team since he has been here, of course, but let's not act like Hart is the only reason. So JvR started to skate, give more effort and lessened his turnovers because Hart is in net? Maybe you are saying that gave him the motivation to start, but why didn't he do that ALL 12 games with Hart? |

No, I’m saying getting the saves you need to win a game is inspiring for the rest of the team. I think you saw early this season how lifeless a team can be if you aren’t getting those saves. |

I love the idea of cocky top six forwards getting punched in the face. Brad Marchand needs to get punched in the face. Matthew Tkachuk has a swagger I like but wouldn’t mind seeing him get punched. Max Domi, same. Travis Konecny is the example of a player that I like a lot but early in his career probably deserved a punch in the face. To Konecny’s credit, he’s grown up a lot. Some players never grow up. |

I will go on record as saying the Flyers won't make the playoffs.
15 points out of a playoff spot
34 games remaining
AT LEAST 51 points out of the possible 68 points (75%)
25-8-1
Starting next game they will have to be a better team than the Tampa Bay Lightning for the rest of the way just to maybe get a playoff spot, maybe.
Now if they do make it into the playoffs this year, they will go down as one of the best second half season teams of ALL-TIME.
$10,000 they don't make the playoffs, who wants the bet?
Whether they finish last place or 5th last or 12th last, just as much a possibility they can get the 1st overall. - Glak18
Okay, I bet the Flyers make the playoffs. Any fashion is fine. Yes, it will be a record.
Here is the deal though...no money bet...loser has to address the winner by the title of his choosing any time they are posting from the last day of the season until the start of the 2019-20 season. Titles of choice TBD but no swear words.

OK I will take that bet, nicely done with an alternative.
CLAUSE UPDATE: You can't disappear during the time frame the winner is awarded his rights, deal?
Willing to accept any others who are willing to get in on this.... |

Deal. I will not disappear for longer than I would normally due to personal commitments or vacations.
No, I am already betting against the house. I likely won’t have anyone join my side.

Offensively he is. Laughton is no question better defensively. Laughton isn't slow by any means but he doesn't have the wheels of Johnsson, if he gets a 2 way game he would be a great asset on the PK.
Noticed Johnsson is a +5 in GVA/TKA, Laughton is a -6. Would love to see Johnsson on the PK to see how he fairs. |

I don't think there is a big difference offensively. At least not to this point.

Win this game! That is my campaign slogan.
To the Flyers Team,
You all should know, I believe you can make the playoffs. Win one game at a time. Never look at the numbers. Never look at the standings. Never care if other teams win or lose. You guys, just think about one shift, one period and one game at a time. If you ever lose, just blow it off and make sure to win the next game. Winning is a habit, keep doing it and it feels easier. Remember, just win this game!
Let’s go Flyers!
A Fan
PS read this a week from today...enjoy your holidays...G, have a fun time at the all-star weekend...Gritty, win everything

You might as well ask for Laughton for Johnsson and create a package from there. Johnsson has speed. Laughton has grit. Depends on what you want more for your team. |

Wow...he had to make up points lost while playing for team Canada. Didn’t suppose he would attempt to do that in one game.
