I've seen the clips. He had a bad game. And guess what: every D has a bad game once in a while.
You guys are freaks in here with your quest for perfection from an incredibly imperfect game that's played at an incredibly fast pace. - gravyface
I see quite a few Philadelphia games (since they play some games Sat afternoon which is a good time for me in Europe). Gudas is not good, for example he isn't an upgrade at all over Ozhiganov. |

Holy crap all the negativity with Nylander is way over reaction. He's sucked this year so far, but that's not surprising when you start mid season.
He certainly doesnt suck, and can score . - Archaic
The mid season start was on him - not the Leafs. As a comparison (although he sucks when compared to Pasta) Pastrnak came in and has been a top line, hard working and producing Bruin since he signed is first RFA deal. Nylander by contrast has been a giant piece of sh!t despite playing mostly with skilled players. It's on him to show some pride and earn that juicy payday.

The comments here right now are a bit overboard on some things. Gudas is better then Oz for sure |

how has nylander been good this season?
previous 2 seasons he was playing well / ok (mostly riding matthews' slipstream matthews though), but this season he's been really bad.
not like that's a huge surprise; it was always very clear that he wasn't in the marner-matthews-tavares category.. |

What exactly do you think Gudas adds to the Leafs?

more grit, more penalties, and more make up calls going our way so the PP can do jack (frank)
basically |

Actually you make a good point about taking more penalties. As stupid as it may sound, adding toughness would increase the penalties both ways. Not so bad if the Leafs can produce like the first few weeks of the season. I think Gudas is a waste though, if you want an available really tough MOFO, that is a RHD and cheap, call the Rangers about McQuaid. Probably cost a third rounder or less and Marner, Matthews and Tavares can play like they're 10 feet tall.

the athletic had an article on powerplays. seems the best way to get more powerplays is to take more penalties lol. refs are (frank)ing trash in this league. |

Totally agree. They won't miss a delay of game for flipping the puck over the glass, but hooking, interference, holding, slashing, tripping................ reminds me of judged sports at the olympics.

My favourite part of the kapanen talk is a lot of posters here had him in their trades for defensemen at the beginning of last season because he wasnt "much of a prospect". All of them are saying hes now untradeable. - Aaron_85
Yeah....and Sandin has emerged over Liljegren. Prospects either get better or they don’t.
It’s why they have value in a trade. You trade them hoping they won’t reach their potential but if you are going to get you have to give. |

Do you all think Freddie gets the start tonight? Need to stream a goalie and that’s always tough on Sunday. |

I think Oz has actually been playing better hockey the past few games. I agree that Dermott makes him better, just that I think he's been better lately. |
