Crow is skating again. I thought he was done....
If he is able to play, do you think we could try to move him to a contender? He has 1 year left on his contract and we could always retain since we will be in the dumpster for another year (I assume).
To EDM for Jesse and a 2nd? Or is that to steep?
I feel like this is a similar situation that we were in when we overpaid for Timm. I guess it worked out for us though... - RedRevenge
Edmonton would need to clear some cap space. They want to send a crap contact, not Lucic, then it could be a better return. Same applies if the Hawks retain. They can keep PoolParty. Maybe Ethan Bear and a 2nd if the Hawks retain for example. |

Difficult to imagine how bad the Oilers with so many first round picks are - nowhere- |

They’re a great example of why tanking doesn’t work. Top draft picks are great, but a winning culture is better. |

A good front office and competent coaches behind the bench helps also....... |

Did anyone see Johansen's "judo chop" on Schiefle? |

I think it warranted more. How was intent to injure not part of that? |

Exactly - what did Keith get for his retaliatory hit on Coyle? 5 games? |

two concussions...started out looking fantastic his first 6-7 games back but then hawks pss poor defense finally wore him done and the pucks started flying in...
his trade value has plummeted with those injuries...hawks will not move him and and he must ok any trade....so not going anywhere the rest of this season |

Custance interviewed Carcillo in The Athletic, partly in response to Chris Pronger's statements about his own concussions and how he'd like more physicality in hockey in his interview ( https://theathletic.com/7...d-hitting-in-todays-game/)
Here's Carcillo's: https://theathletic.com/7...-human-interest-thats-it/
ETA: Priceless NHL move in the first Q&A:
Just really quickly, I have two horizontal tears in each of my ankles, arthritis in both my ankles, no PCL in my right knee, I’ve had my MCL rehabilitated six times on my right knee, I’ve had ACL reconstructive surgery on my left knee, MCL done three times on my left knee, arthritis in both my knees, labrum hip surgery on my left side, had my abdomen stapled back to my pelvis on my left side. Those two surgeries were 15 days apart when I was with Philadelphia. I have no labrum in my left shoulder. I have three inches of arthritis in three of my discs in my neck. I’ve had seven concussions, diagnosed, confirmed. I have a lot of tears in my neck. I’ve broken my nose, I’ve lost three teeth – I say all that not to act cool or anything (but) to let guys know is, the first thing you need to do – and this is what I do through my foundation – you have to seek treatment for your ailments.
The funny thing with the NHLPA and the insurance, the reason I had to do that is because the NHLPA insurance that I pay over $2,000 a month for always denies my claims because they say it’s a preexisting condition from hockey. |

They traded away the Hart Trophy winner for a 4th defenseman and drafted one of the most legendary #1 overall busts in NHL History in Yakupov. It’s more an indictment on their GMs, not the concept of “tanking” or compiling top 3 draft picks over a few years.
The Hawks are proof drafting in the Top 3 can provide you with Hall of Fame talent with Kane #1 overall and Toews #3. Worked pretty well for us 12 years ago...let’s do it again. |

Drafting Kane and Toews was huge, but there was much more to the Hawks 3 most recent championships. |

#1 or 2 overall pick is what the Hawks need, they should tank. Hughes or Kakko drastically accelerate the ascension to playoff/entertaining hockey team. Of course when teams are composed of 12 forwards, 6 defenseman and a goalie each game there’s more to winning championship than 2 players. But, you don’t get those key players who get you championships without sucking and drafting top 3 in 2006 + 2007. |

Found this interesting too: “Yeah, man. I had a cush life. The Blackhawks were feeding me about $160,000 worth of appearances. All I had to do was show up, smile and sign autographs. As soon as I started speaking about mental health, as soon I started talking about concussions – I haven’t even told my side with what I saw with Steve (Montador’s) story – as soon as I started doing that, everything started to change. Friends stopped talking to me. The Blackhawks systematically cut ties with me. Which I totally understand. I’m not sitting here complaining about that. I knew that was going to happen. … They’ll push you out if you don’t toe the company line. ” |

""OMG and he’s doing this all without Panarin?""
I'm not really all that clear on what the point of this editorial comment was - but technically he also wasn't playing the entire PP's in that past season, or at times playing half the game (literally) ... so I mean, it is fair to point out that perspective too.

I can´t see Edmonton doing that. They like what they have seen in Koskinen this year and Oilers probably sees him as their no 1 goalie. I believe Oilers are more interested in getting rid of goalie (Talbot) than acquring one. |

Why would we think there is any kind of a market for a goalie who has missed substantial time twice now in 13 months due to concussions?
Even if he were to come back against Washington today - there is no way he could erase the doubts in the 5 1/2 weeks between now and the TDL. |

To top this off, they signed Lucic immediately after that for $6M -the same salary Hall was getting. And then let Eberle go for peanuts. I think those decisions could have cost them a cup while their big guys were still on their ELC deals. |
