I wonder if the Rangers would even want him back? Not that they don't love the guy, but they may not want to come close in money/term to what he could get on the open market. There's a lot of young kids that are going to need playing time moving forward and he may just not fit into the equation. - eichiefs9
that's my opinion, I dont think the Rangers will want him back and want to continue to get younger and faster |

Or he could be on the same page as Hank

We find 2 more of them and we'll have a string quartet!! |

I am pretty sure you are the GM for the Oilers incognito - Greschnergy#4
OMG I wish! I would give the Rangers Mcdavid for Fast, Smith and 2nd. |

Totally off topic but, has anyone else noticed Vesey is having a REALLY good year? In comparison to his previous two seasons, production wise he’s on pace to blow away his career highs. |

You also would have traded Blake Wheeler for a guy who had a heart attack on the bench and Boris Valabik |

I remember Rich Peverly doing that. I've never seen 2 teams more scared and confused. |

Yeah that was pretty scary. Not something you see every day. I know I've made jokes before, but I'm not making one now....if Cherapanov's death never happened there's no guarantee that a defibrillator would have been accessible and he could've died in that tunnel. |

I know they want to keep getting younger and adding speed, but there has to be a few guys that stay. I think a lot of it will depend on whether or not Hayes gets traded. I would like to keep him but that means Zib gets traded I think. The thing with resigning Zucc next year is we really don’t have any wingers in the system for a top 9 role. After Kravtsov who do we have? Letteri? Gettinger? I think Kakko is the way to go over Hughes if we get the chance. |

I think Chytl is a winger in the NHL. Andersson is bottom 6 at best and more than likely a bust. The Rangers will have so much cap space after the next two with Hank, Staal, Smith and Shatty coming off the books. Plus we have so many young entry level defensemen in the system already.
If we sign Hayes and win the lottery - we are set up the middle with Hughes; and Zib and Hayes become so much better at 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 2. kakko is a nice consolation prize though. |

Considering Zuccarello’s recent depression about being traded and his apparent 180 in attitude. Maybe Gorton told him they would trade him to a contender where he might win a cup and we will sign you back in the summer. |

Can't have Hayes at what his salary will probably be as a third line center. Its either Zib or Hayes is gone, and unfortunately it looks like Zib is staying |

Call me crazy- I don't agree. Zib is under paid and Hayes can be brought in at 6ish too. What you can't do is sign a FA for $11M (Panarin). |

The Guys with the high cap hits are the Vets the Rangers keep. The problem is, 3 of those contracts, all on the blue line are mistakes. So those are the veterans the Rangers. Live by it, die by it. Be bad, sell off the UFAs and get that pick. |

Yes- my scenario counts on a lot of young blue chip defensemen and goaltending - meaning no Smith, no Staal, no Shatty and no Hank. |

Hate to say it, but Hayes would get more for the team in a trade than what he would be doing as a 3rd line center on the team. He is easily a top 2nd line center. |

#NYR send Alex Georgiev back to Hartford, where they have six games between now and the time the break ends. Marek Mazanec called up to presumably backup in Boston. Everyone gets a break, Georgie gets work. |

semantics - you can call him 2A or 2B if you like
@tom- not if we can move them. Staal has bene playing very well and can be traded. Shatty does have a skill set that can be moved if he continues the way he has been over the last few games. Smith I admit is an issue. |
