We need another Boeser, Hughes and a young top 4 RHD. Two more high draft picks and a few years for these guys to develop. I’m ok with this plan as long as we make strides along the way
We need so many pieces. How anyone watch yesterday’s game not see this? Edmonton sucks and they carried play. One injury and we can’t compete - CanuckDon
Canucks are 2 points out of 15 th place and the other teams have caught up in games. They are making progress.

It's stunning to hear comments like that. The Canucks are so far away from seriously competing. They need at least 2 more top 6 wingers, a #1 D man and a legitimate top tier goalie despite the all star coaching staff.

I agree they are still a ways away but they made a huge jump this year.
They have prospects that are learning , they have a ton of cap space and they can make some trades (smart ones). They have 9 draft picks this year and they have most of their players under control RFAs and young core under contract.

I didn’t pay $800 for club seats, so I couldn’t really evaluate how guys did away from the puck, but on TV McDavid is phenomenal, the rest of the Oilers look very much like the Canucks. Play hard, shut down the neutral zone, limit shots to the outside, let the goalie see the puck to make the save, safe, not so exciting and not to boring hockey.
If McDavid was out (one injury) they wouldn’t compete either, it’s not like the Canucks are a strong team with Pettersson.
The Canucks rebuild has just begun, a few more pieces then people can complain about not competing.

Spot on Makita. The two teams are in a similar place which certainly doesn’t bode well for the Oilers. We at least have Hughes coming and a deeper prospect pool. Some reason for optimism though as we are scoring more since the Sedins retired. Thank You Alien

Even though I hate hockey and the Canucks, I agree with your agreement of Makita's assessment. Some children don't like hearing "no".
Yup but he is decent in front of the net. You get him in the corners or on the boards he can have his moments (and not in a good way) He is overpaid . He is needed until they can replace him. The good thing he is on a short deal. - VANTEL
I don’t even think he is over paid, I don’t really care what players earn. I’d say he’s over played though...
