Tough one. I heard his agent wants 7 years at 5 mil per minimum.

Concussion Issues.... already missed a month this yr.... do we want that risk? I wouldn't unless through free agency.
- SMP8719

this is a good point, big risk if he's had issues for the past two year.

No!
I don't care who the player is or how old they are, 7 years is too long.

Oh, and STFU.

substitute goal scoring (from BOS days) for grit and you literally have a scenario of LE 2.0

hard no as well

I know Nino has struggled but Canes fans don’t like Rask at all

Interesting move by Fenton who was “trademaster” Poile’s right hand man...

I would definitely not be offering Brock an 8 year deal. I would be making him a bridge deal.See what you really have because truthfully this year has not been overly impressive

Someone called him Mike Hoffman on Twitter and its hard to disagree too much.

I don't think he's as big a disaster defensively but dudes play without the puck is Goldy levels. When he isn't scoring he's quite literally doing (frank) all out there.

On the other hand, not many players can put together heaters the way he does.

If there's any positive to take from the Petey injury, its that the team should be able to go to the table calling Brock a product of Petey at this point as he hasn't found a way to score with any other center this year.

Gotta agree with this.... otherwise we could end up with a W. Nylander

i would be happy if he got Bo's deal. Given what Brock did in year 2 of his deal though, I think he still has leverage to bypass a bridge. I honestly don't have a clue what JB is going to give him, but I imagine he will be the highest paid Canuck next season.

If Petey is ready to get back into the lineup on Friday, someone will have to come out. Will that be Horvat, placed on IR? Will Jim Benning make another trade to free up a spot? Or will Kero simply be shipped right back to Utica if it turns out that both Horvat and Pettersson are able to play?

-Carol

I predict Pettersson is not ready for Friday, Horvat is one tough mother and will be available.

I though when watching the game live that the hit by Kassian was an intentional cheap, dirty, lift the left knee into Horvat. The guys a goon that should be taken out, now here is where I want some sort push back, my take is Kassian deliberately targetted Horvat because Gudbranson wouldn't fight the neanderthal.

I think paying Ferland 5 mil a year is nuts . Get Jordie Benn on D and Gudbrandson . They should be okay to combine to cover the physical duties .

it will be interesting to see. I don't know if what he has done this year is enough to make him earn more than Bo, but again, I still wouldn't be surprised if he is the highest paid Canuck by next year because of all his accomplishments last year. And 3-5 for a player like Boeser would be so much more ideal than 6 or 7 or 8, I 100% agree.

Canes fans wanted to dump Rask on anyone for free so I guess “win-win” in that sense but I’ll take Nino all day over Rask

Had him in the hockey pool, gave him away for free. This deal is about something else than the player for Minny...

Wild clear cap space as well I think. Maybe they have another deal in the works...
- 1970vintage

like i said it only gives them 1.25 in space which is peanuts considering how bad Rask is. Either Minny got other moves to make or they just got semi-fleeced
