Was it Bennings idea to sign Eriksson?

MDZ played 82 games last year and cost Canucks about 1.7 this year for 23 games

Beagle is earning a steady paycheck

Schaller has played 32 games

Loui has played 47 games this year

So it is really only Gagner

Ever since the Sedins have retired you have become Benning's biggest apologist.

Aquilini is probably looking at Eriksson and his 35 points at 6 mil and EP40 and his 70 pts for a combined 7 mil for 105 points . Last year that cost hi 14 mil from the last GM . That's a 50 % savings

He is probably looking at Brocks 60 pts for 1 mil and Bo's 60 pts for 5.5 and sees 120 pts for 6.5 mil.

You just can't look at one bad contract .

Fortunately, there are many.

You're correct.

It would make sense.

Same as when Benning shuts down Loui at TDL because they are out of the picture it turns his salary into a 4 mil salary paid by ownership not 6

Sutter Tanev Edler and Gudbrandson have all been shut down at one time or another by Benning at the end of the year.

You think I like Benning

I am glad every day he stays away from a mic. I am just throwing numbers at you.

Canucks have made improvements this year and have caught up to the middle of the pack. Some people can't handle that.

I'll wait for the season to end before passing judgement on the level of success.

You have been passing judgement all year just like the rest of us. I know you said for a fact right after training camp Canucks would finish dead last. That is passing judgement.

I am judging how they have played up to now. I am not predicting.

I wonder if Demko gets a start for Buffalo or Detroit, IMAC says he thinks Demko is ready to go as far as the team is concerned.

Does EP40 play today against Buffalo, or do they keep him out until the ASG?

I think he'll play Sunday vs Detroit but not tonight. Much like Barzal last year I think if he stays healthy he'll easily walk away with the Calder. Two great and equally talented centres win back to back. Barzal is more of a playmaker than Pettersson who's a shooter but equally talented number one centres.

My gut feeling is they still finish 10 th from the bottom

Stats say they are 2 pts out of 15 th spot with the same amount of games played as Dallas. . It could go either way.

I can see Benning tanking so I'm guessing NYR, Blues and Coyotes surging ahead of the Canucks and they finish around where they did last year at sixth last. Then they'll need some lotto luck.

I will probably get called for cheer leading again but why would a GM 1 point out of a playoff spot want to tank?

Last I heard they were considering bringing in Hughes early to try to push for the playoffs?

Cam Robinson had said that with Norris out (number 1 center at Michigin), the likly-hood of Michigin being bounced early from the Big 10 is greater, and the soonest he could be available is March 11th. Ideally he said, if he comes mid March, he won't be able to play the 11 games to make him exempt for expansion.

Because I think they'll be out of it at the end of February so they'll play a bunch of inexperienced kids, like Hughes, and tank.

I thought if he played 1 game it would count? Thats good if its 11. They could bring him in and sit him. Have him play 10 max.

if he signs this year and plays 1 game, I believe it burns a year of his ELC
if he plays 11 games this year, it makes him eligible to be claimed in the Seattle Expansion (of course Canucks will protect him though)

Expansion draft protection doesn't matter. We don't have enough good players here to protect. No need in getting crazy about it.

Ep Brock Bo Quinn Gaudette Demko of our 1st plays this next draft. The rest literally.dont matter

again, saying "we don't have enough good players to protect today" is pretty short-sited. The expansion draft is 2021, not today. I agree, Hughes will get protected no matter what, but if it means losing the option to have him play on march 11th instead of march 15th or 16th and be automatically protected, we are losing the option over a game or two?
All players drafted this year and beyond will automatically be protected, but saying "who cares about the expansion, we don't have enough good players" is just silly, we aren't protecting the players today, we are protecting what will be a significantly different roster in 2.5 years.

Weedwood!!

I love how after October you were like "they still suck, wait till December rolls around and they go back to bottom 5. Then by December when all the injuries pile up and they still end up being almost a 500 team, you go wait till end of January when they come back down to life - bottom 5!! Now suddenly it's wait till the end of season!! We get it dude, you hate everything...

some solid narratives right there buddy - btw can I get you a slice of pie?
