Stamkos did score on that play, but it wasn't offside because he had control when the puck crossed the line.

holy f. listen to this from last season

https://twitter.com/dragl...tatus/1086296568054059009

where does Marner fit .. Mathews ahead of him, Nylander, Hyman, Connor brown

I think they should trade him. - Kyper

Marner was in a 2 goals in 20+ games slimp...just like Nylander, and Willie will come out of it just fine also

- senstroll

Holy poop that makes me miss millard...Kyper sounds like such a moron there

Anderson's positioning and puck tracking was 100% spot on last night.

The chances were pretty even and that third Leafs goal was the killer - Vasi would love to have that one play out differently. But, it really wasn't his fault.

And Kucherov was held mostly in check, which was frustrating the heck out of him. He's been quiet the last couple of games and his frustration is building. I feel very sorry for the team on the receiving end of his inevitable resumption of burying shots - he is due to break out and go nuts again.

These games are entertaining as hell and have a rivalry feel to them, but it's mostly a clean rivalry built out of mutual respect and hometown ties. Stamkos and Tavares are friends. I don't see much dirtiness or nastiness like you would see if Boston or Philly was involved. I like that. It's fun to watch (even though the Bolts lost last night).

I don't feel robbed of three hours after watching that game.

- GalacticStone

I'd love for these two teams to meet in the playoffs - it would be great hockey to watch.

Of course, I'm hoping that's in the 2nd or 3rd round...

Hard pass....

to the opposing team's forward by Zaitsev!

- Scabeh

Zaitsev only makes soft passes.

to be fair, it wasnt just Kyper that was saying stuff like that about Marner at the time.

Fans have very short memories and its mostly what have you done latley that forms your mindset on a player.

During that time, Nylander was the darling (cuz he meshed with Matthews) and Mitch was expendable.

Yeah, who wants that after 50 years wandering the desert?

Or in Aethsie's case, 50 years wandering around the dessert table.

Agreed. The only (reasonable) argument against Weber is the contract.
- Deeps27

The only team that cares about Weber's contract is Nashville.

In fact, it becomes an asset for the Habs in the later years - if Weber is hinting of retiring, Nashville would have to trade back for him and send him to Robidas Island.

Because if he retires, Nashville would have to suspend operations for 3 years - they wouldn't be able to field a team.

oh come on now... you know the owner would crap his pants at the thought of paying a player more than 6M

Nino is owed over $6 mill in actual salary this season even though his cap hit is $5.25

I'm shocked... the new owner's modus operandi seems to be cost cutting... which is unfortunate.

I don't understand the Dougie Hamilton trade, and I don't understand the Neiderreiter one either.

That's because you're not paying attention beyond "Wow, that Lindholm guy sure is putting up a lot of pointa all of a sudden."

genuinely (not trolling at all) thought that both Lindholm and Hannifin have/had pretty high ceilings... didn't think that Hamilton would add as much to Carolina, where they already head a couple of guys on the right side.

just my opinion.

If he has control the stick is now considered an extension of the body, would have counted if he scored.

nope.

he has to have demonstrated control of the puck PRIOR to crossing the line, since he received the pass inside the blue line... no control PRIOR.

You are correct, looked at it again and he received the puck when it was over the blue line. At first I thought he got it before it was over.

That's what confused me the most. Why trade a young LHD with a high ceiling for a RHD when you already have Faulk and Pesce on the right side?

Odd.

And now Dougie is on the 3rd pairing and word on the street is the Canes are open to dealing him.
